"So far, so good..."

A man decided to end his life by jumping off a 20 story building, as he was plummeting to the ground people on the successive floors heard, 'So far, so good, so far, so good.." then when he hit the pavement and is lying there shattered and people gathering around a cop comes up to break it up and asks, "What's going on here?"  The man looks up and says, "I don't know, just got here myself."

And so it begins.....

Chemo sessions are the 'AC' combination for four sessions and only take two and a half hours. If I had known they had a dvd player and not just vhs I would have brought my own movie! Will plan on that next time. After those are done, then comes the tough one, the Taxol for four sessions and those will take 5 hours.
My routine is, report to the dr. office, get a blood draw, then see her and talk about symptoms etc... then walk over (or could eventually take their shuttle) to the infusion center for the chemo. The nurses are very attentive, I told Leibchen...(yes a German name but attached to an Asian/Phillipino girl...) that I hadn't had breakfast, they just happened to have someone bring bagels and fruit and she brought me a small plate. Very nice. My chemo concoction is bright strawberry red and she pushes it manually through the port IV tube. It isn't much oddly enough, and they found it works better doing it manually so I got to chat with her a bit, then when that was done they let me sit for a half hour so I got some knitting done. I forgot the shawl that I wanted to work on and instead started a sweater. Go figure.
The lady next to me on my right, (I was next to a wall, last chair,) was having a 5 hour session older than me by at least a decade, had her husband there with her but played several hands of cribbage with my friend, Peggy while I knitted or wrote.
When I was finished,we drove through Carl's Jr so I could get some lunch and then I was home again. Not feeling too bad but had a kind of tight/woozy feeling. Ate my lunch, got on the computer and after about an hour or so decided I wasn't feeling too well and took one of the nausea meds and laid down.
Wierd dreams that I can't really remember while listening to my ambient music app.
Oh, was visited by the breast cancer case worker nurse and she gave me more info and I showed her the iChemo Diary app. She was impressed and I made sure to tell her it was free. If people are connected at all like I am, it's great.
So, here I am, sitting back on the computer again not feeling too bad but still kind of queasy, if it gets worse I'll take another dose but it has to be really bad. I'm going to look into some of the ginger teas and herbal remedies for nausea control as well. The less chemicals in my body the better.
I'll be getting my hair cut sometime soon as that will start falling out in a week or two. The case worker agreed that getting it cut would get me mentally in the groove for when it is all out. That was my thinking as well as not wanting to have patches of it laying on the pillow when I wake up or random clumps pulling out.
I'm logging all my symptoms and details on my iChemo diary so I can access it when I talk to the doctor next.
Oh and due to the chemo starting, the breast reconstruction likely won't happen until that's all done, so I'm stuck being lopsided for at least four months.

Yeah, kind of lightheaded right now. Weird feeling. Since I started out with a quote I will just finish now.
