What's been happening...

I think I figured out the method for my scheduling.
I had an absolutely fantastic time at Michelle's wedding (niece of mine for those who don't know)

First, the last day at Beverly's was interesting to say the least. The store was mostly broken down when I got there as they had made the decision on that Monday to close it down that week. So I only worked 3 hours helping pack what was left while the temp hire crew broke down the fixtures and sweep.
Supposedly I'll be getting a 'severance pay' sometime but not sure what or when.
My manager asked if I wanted to take my apron with me and I said immediately, no I don't have any use for it. I took my badge home though and that, along with sundry Items I've bought, are my memories of 18 years there.
No regrets, only fond memories and a lifetime of skills learned.

As for my scheduling, they are keeping me at roughly 25 hours a week. So in order to do that and give me a few 8 hour shifts when necessary they give me four days on and 3 days off roughly. The work is still okay, getting along with all the people that work there and I think I've made an impact on some things that are moving forward, (hose replacements we use, tools, that sort of thing).
I have only been there for five months so likely won't be considered for full time until I've been there a year. IF it's in the budget of course. I may be looking for another job at an actual nursery next spring where my full talents can be utilized.

Now on to the wedding/family reunion, it was fantastic! I didn't participate in any of hte games but had a blast watching. I saw people there I hadn't seen since I was a kid and all the childhood memories kept flooding in. Reminisced with my brothers and showed them some photos I had in my collection and to my dismay found out that my brother Mike (oldest) didn't have the family photos. He didn't know where they went and that is rather depressing. Dad was an avid photographer when we were on trips and there were boxes and boxes of slides as well as all the other photos. Might have to find out if one of my other brothers has them.
Other than that the wedding was incredibly moving as well as being hilarious best one I've ever been to.

And now, I need to get out of the house, roommate Trista has friends over and apparently is taking a shower while she plays her music at full blast so she can hear it.
Going to go spend some fun time with Katie and walk around Balboa park.

Yay!
Maybe another update soon with more details, despite the heat I would rather be outside than in right now.
