Getting bottom of the barrel

Due to a miscalculation/timing on my part I now have approximately $15 to my name to last me until NEXT payday.
The miscalculation was a reminder that car insurance was due but that was a self entered date and was based on the previous billing cycle which was three days before it's current date. The auto payment bounced and threw me negative in the bank. I transferred $100 from one account to that account which left me with $9.51.
I have maybe about $16 in loose change jar, haven't totaled that up completely yet.
We have 'some' food in the house, 'some' gas to last me a few days and that's about it.
I tried applying for a debt consolidation loan and can't qualify for the amount I need to clear my credit cards. (Need about $5k and the most I can get is about $1k) So because of that I am applying for rent assistance/housing voucher (not Section 8) so we can try to find a place to live.
I haven't been this low in a long time and I hate it.
Before you judge me on my credit cards, I got them when I had money to pay them and was good paying them as I sued them. I had to use them to survive when I wasn't working and then when I was working part time. I was able to pay them mostly down with some of my retirement money but not enough and interest builds up.
I have not been reckless with my money.

I could raid my current 401k but that's just under $2k at this point and would lose some of that to taxes. Not worth it.
So here we are, taking stuff to storage which wore us out with only two trips. Jon has no income until either he gets a job or April when he can reapply for unemployment.
I am applying for food assistance at least and hope that comes through.
Jon applied for MediCal I have coverage from work.
So far we have a roof over our heads but have no money for rent this month until next payday and of course that's going to be only a few hundred. Same for next month and then at the end of February we have to be out.

There is a very tiny chance Jon might be able to wiggle into a job back at Home Depot. Not counting on that since they have to go all the way to corporate HR to pull strings. He will be waiting to hear from the HR lady at the store he applied at (not my store but he did send an app there as well, it's worth a shot right?).
So I am throwing my cares and worries out into the world and hope that the winds of fate blow them in the right direction for help.

We both have a dream of having our own place big enough to have a 'man cave' for him and a 'she shed' for me. Plenty of room for Rocky to run around, a yard maybe a screened porch. It's a dream, fantasy really since none of that will come to pass but it's nice to dream isn't it?
Might as well dream about winning the lottery right? Only a 'slightly' better chance of winning if you actually play.
We don't need billions, just a million after taxes is fine.
A few thousand maybe? Just to get us on our feet and momentum going for a year or two.
Sigh.
Need to go get a snack, I'm whining now I think because I'm hungry.
