Week 1 finishing up.

We are finishing up our first week in a motel. It's been..interesting as it has a mini fridge and microwave but the microwave cook knob is missing so we never used it.
Had two possible places I contacted to live but one turned out to be a scam and the other never replied to my info request. This is getting really frustrating and depressing.
We have another motel lined up to check in tomorrow just up the road from where we are now.
For those familiar, we're staying in Escondido for now as the cheapest places closest to work for me.
Jon is still looking for work, hoping for call backs but none come through. I remarked this morning he could be a bouncer except it's a night job.
We were eating at McDonalds this morning, almost done eating and a lady starts talking very loud at the counter. I look over and there seemed to be more people just milling around. Apparently she's the manager and they were having work orientation right there in this tiny McDonalds. She states rather loudly they must have a state issued ID and if they don't have shoes and socks they will not be considered. There were about fifteen or twenty people of all ages milling about.
The first girl she talks to doesn't have an ID. Looked to be about a senior in high school and previously she had been dropped off apparently by her parents. Hispanic from the language I heard but the girl seemed to speak English very well.
Right there on the application process online 9 times out of 10 it says must have ID.
We left as soon as we were done eating. Listening to an orientation in a small dining room was not my idea of a relaxed morning.
We have a forwarding mail address to a postal annex address reasonably close to work. For now we are still hoping for a miracle but know that they do not happen often and we are still doing what we can to make things happen.
For now, Sans Domicile checking out.
