Same room for another week

With a small infusion of money from a friend we are able to stay in the same hotel and room for another week. I get paid this week so we'll have that money and some good news, Jon was able to file for unemployment. YAY!
With all the other unemployed people it will be interesting to see how long it takes for them to get back to him and get money in his account.
Eating out all the time is getting tiresome and wearing on our budget. We discovered a great bagel and deli place nearby that is now our breakfast place. Trying to eat healthier of what we have available.
Can't very well set up a crock pot and cook dinner, not to mention not enough of a fridge to keep left overs.
It was a joy to point out to Jon that the deli had bagel with lox. His face got that goofy nostalgic cartoon expression. He used to have that when he was a cop in NY and it's 'soul food' for him. He ordered it on a cinnamon raisin bagel which made the guy (probably the owner) do a double take. We will likely go there for lunch as some of their sandwiches look fantastic.
Most food places like that along with Rubios and Subway have always had carry out so they have their tables inside either pushed off to the side or have the chairs upended on the tables.  Jon's had pizza delivery lately for lunches since it's been raining but had walked to an Alberto's mexican drive through the other day.
When I was married and we came to San Diego to visit Dave's family there was an Alberto's in Mira Mesa near where we were staying. I was pregnant at the time and absolutely fell in love with their rolled tacos. This place still makes them that way, just guac and cheese but the guac is fresh! Not the soupy stuff most places have, but with chunks of onion and tomato visible in it. Tacos, not so good but the next thing I want to be hungry enough to try is the Flying Saucer tostada.
Large flour tortilla fried then piled with beans, meat (usually beef sometimes with bell peppers and onion), guac, pico, lettuce, sour cream and cheese. It is a monster tostada and I used to polish one off in a matter of about twenty minutes with nothing but juice in the tray.

So as far as work is concerned, we're having to wear masks all the time now. Me with glasses I pull it down when no one is around due to breathing hard and fogging them up with my breath. Hoping I can get a cloth mask like people are wearing that fits better over my nose.
We've had a few customers come in the store and loudly complain of either the lines or 'being infected by 150 people right now!' Then stay the hell home!! What is so important you have to be here RIGHT NOW!?
Since they keep count of how many customers come in and leave, I asked one of the managers what the count was, and she showed me on her phone around 4 that there were 44 currently on her shift. That is an all time low. Total for the day we may have gotten about 100. We had overall twice that or more in a few hours on the weekend days.
So the rain was a good thing and put a damper on people coming out as well as it being a Monday and some people still have work to do either at home or actual going out work.
Will see how next weekend runs.
Home Depot is also cancelling their 'Spring Black Friday' sales to reduce numbers coming in. A LOT of people are taking advantage of ordering online so we're not losing too much money.

Enough of that. Hoping to have some more leads for a place to live sometime soon.
Hope everyone is staying safe, healthy and keeping sane in all this.

Love and wishes,
Sans Domicile signing off.
