It's my birthday month. yay yippee...yahooo. whoopeee. Currently eating a piece of special dark chocolate bar because that's about what we can afford.
So, I got the notice a while back saying that Medicare will be taking 164.90 out of my SS check every month to pay for the Part B plan. I have been too frustrated to wade through and wait on the phone to follow through on that and was fully expecting this month to have that come out of my check. I even gave my apartment manager the heads up that we may have problems paying rent because of that.
I also finished filling out my Medicaid form and sent that off in time, haven't heard or seen anything from them since and on that website it says I'm active and no forms are pending and everything seems to be good.
Now today I check my email and there's a direct deposit in my bank... from...Social Security (which I am not expecting until the weekend). It was for $164.90. The payment that I got a notice a month ago for the part B that would be taken out in October.....😦
Totally confused now I go to the Medicare site, look at my account and it says Part A and Part B have no premium due.
I go to SS site and check the payments and history page and it says payment date will now be on the 3rd of the month and a one time payment of $950 will be deposited on the 3rd ...... and monthly medicare deduction is 0.
I am so confused about whether this is because of Medicaid or something? I must have not read the instructions and everything well enough where there might have been an explanation. I don't do well reading instructions I do better with verbal descriptions.
I'm really okay with it being earlier but I expected that 950 to be payments henceforth and would have to fight to get my full amount paid again. It doesn't appear that Jon's pay date has changed though. So paying the rent will still have to wait until the second or third week of the month.
Really should have signed up for a medicare class somewhere to get this figured out first.
I am so confused and worried that I'll be dinged as an overpayment for that on top of my screwing up my income tax form that I haven't sent back yet.
I suck at being an adult.
