First off, I realized yesterday that I didn't have internet on my phone unless I was at home and using the wifi. I then remembered that happening when my payment was late before. The payment is still pending in the bank still after three days so they won't restore my phone service until that clears. I may have to go down to the cricket store and straighten it out if it isn't cleared by tomorrow.
We left this morning at around 7:30, stopped at Starbucks before hopping on the freeway and started on our trip at 7:50. We arrived at the parking structure at 10:00 am on the dot. There was traffic between El Cajon and Clairmont then clear sailing with only a few slow downs until we got to Anaheim.
First off, it was as busy as if it were a weekend day. It didn't used to be, eight or ten years ago it would have been light traffic in the park but this was crazy busy. I don't know when it will ever not be busy again. We got to the Haunted Mansion and joined a virtual queue barely, and we got slot numb er 145 and they were on 60 something. Okay so not knowing how fast they would go through them we continued on our day. (That is a cork oak tree I believe and the hearse carriage on the other side of the fence in Haunted Mansion)
We got on Rise of the Resistance almost immediately, Jon's favorite ride. My legs were already getting tired just walking from the front of the park to the back, not a good omen. It was as fun as it was before, and always enjoy the rides and the depth of detail in that area.
We indeed get to Ronto's Roasters and did a comparison of taste. The sauce was similar to the recipe I use but the 'spicy slaw' was a bit too spicy in my comparison. It was still very tasty and Jon agreed it was excellent. The local droids were hanging out and I would have gotten a picture with Jon but they started to complain when he got in the way of the shot. Seriously, it was hilarious the two in the middle started making noise and then I realized that he would be blocking one or both so he stepped off to the side and they were quiet again.
And of course we saw DUCKIES. Ducks are our new favorite animal from all the videos we see of domestic ducks running through houses. I've always loved ducks and this pair were just hanging out eating popcorn and other stuff in the lawn.
So that is part one, we are both exhausted in a good way so we will be getting hopefully a very good sleep tonight. Rocky survived the day and will have more about him in Part 2.
