I actually thought of something rather pithy the other day and wanted to put it on here to counter all the downside stuff I've been dealing with and now I can't remember what it was.
Something about a common sense situation at work or one of those 'we drive on parkways and park on driveways' realizations.
Oh well, time to start writing things down when I think of them.
We're all running a little on the empty right now, but luckily Amber gets her paycheck this afternoon and the rest of us get paid tomorrow. It's hard to think witty things when you're hungry.
If my budget can spare it, I want to make a run to Costco and stock up again on food and supplies. Most bang for the buck out there. $100 of groceries can get me hamburger to last two weeks, TP and PT for a month, chicken for two weeks, bread, canned stuff... Don't know if milk is any cheaper by the pair, oh and gas is the same price as my favorite AMPM.
(also going to get a haircut..this longer hair is driving me nuts and makes me look dumpy)
Oh, I was trying to design some top fold labels for my stitch card product and it always turns into a complicated deal. I don't have the software that will just plug in and do it so I have to import artwork to Photoshop, design the logo, place it correctly on the page, make sure it's at the bottom, not the top, bleh... I'll have to go look around for an app or something maybe that's out there to help. (What I mean by 'top fold label' is the cardstock label that goes over the top of the little baggie product is packaged in.)
I suppose I could just get some sticky label stock and do it that way too. Save time and money... brilliant. I've got an Avery label program for the Mac I downloaded a while ago..have to see what it's got, then just go to town.
Anyway. Spring sure has sprung here. It's horrid foggy this morning because it was so warm yesterday. The fabric store was bustling as well yesterday and the nursery business has picked up greatly... man it has been a bleak winter! I actually get to go in at my normal 9 am on Fridays now because it's so busy with product coming in. I took some photos of flowers last week when I was off the clock, the roses had dew on them, the sun was shining and it was just too pretty.
Oh... here's one thing that I realized sort of...
There's a commercial on right now for some candy bar that has taffy or something and it shows the taste buds on the kids tongue as he's eating represented by a bunch of guys with their heads poked through a red tarp. They get all kinds of stuff dumped on them and all I can think of is... what did they get paid? What was the cast call for that?
"Wanted: actors for yogurt bar commercial as a taste bud..must be enthusiastic, not claustrophobic and not adverse to being slimed."
And on a resume: "Taste bud Fourteen in Taffy Bar Commercial" (can't figure out how to get the accent mark on that e to make it resumay)
Weird...someone had to do it though.
Okay, going to go fix instant pancakes for breakfast..last of the mix almost. Hope everyone has a good day, and here's a parting quote from Tom Stoppard:
"We cross our bredges when we come to them, burn them behind us with nothing to show for our progress except a memory of the smell of smoke, and a presumption that once our eyes watered."
