Okay, I'm baaack

I started posting and hit the wrong button and it canceled the post and went back to the main page. dangit.
Oh well, I was just rambling on about my weekend and the fun time I had.
I ended up on three panels as I had mentioned before. They were all interesting to be on, and the panels I was able to watch were even better.
I got a lot of interaction with published writers and a few panels had professors from UCSD and SDSU, they reminded me that I used to be a lot more broadminded than I am now. Not as if they were speaking to me personally, but in general.
I attended a writing workshop the first morning and it was fantastic!
There were only four of us participating with two published writers moderating and critiquing. I got some very valuable advice and pointers. We were given either a picture or written prompt and I put two of them together to come up with something that I can attach to my current story.
In fact, I'll be starting a new blog where I will be posting bits and pieces for people to read and give me their opinions and hopefully some constructive criticism.
I was going to post them here, but decided that some of the pieces would be rather long so it was better to just keep this to my day to day journal and start a different one for writing.

I got to be a stage manager again for the Masquerade (in the old days it was the Costume contest). Since I was busy, I didn't get any photos of the winning entries but they'll be up on the ConDor site soon I suspect. It was great! So many things that I did when I was younger came up this weekend for me to tap into. Stage manager, costumer, writer, and gamer.
I am sort of planning to go next year and hope there are just as many writing panels as this year. The major theme next year is going to be Steampunk (have to look it up if you don't know) and have to find out what (if ) the subgenre theme will be.
I can't be as active a member on the actual committee because of my schedule, but I can at least contribute ideas and do the same thing next year.
I ended this weekend with a headache, I drank plenty of water and some soda constantly so I don't think I was dehydrated. I had plenty of fruit and chips and actually had some meat on Saturday morning. Wasn't any more expensive than going to IHOP actually but I got (believe it or not) less quantity and, in my mind, quality. (They deep fried the sausage almost black and the maple syrup was hot, not warm)
Anyway... going to go start the other journal and then get back here and put up the link in the sidebar.
As a warning, I will be putting you all on the same list to email when I have new posts there too. Just let me know if you want to be taken off.
Oh, also I'll be trying my hand at a sci fi story. I'm going to try and blend my B5 Ranger story with the story that Dave started years ago. That original version is lost, so I'm starting from scratch practically.
But that's for another time.

Going now, hope everyone had a great weekend.
