Turned out to be a UTI that got up into her kidneys. She has a serious round of anti-biotics to take and has to drink lots of fluids, but she'll be okay. Quite a scare last night, had me more worried than I showed because I didn't want Ava to get upset. Bad enough she heard mommy saying she had blood in her pee and wasn't feeling good.
The news that Devon has a place to stay just got me all excited. He's optimistic that he can afford $500 a month on his summer paychecks, I'm not so optimistic but his friends are pretty cool about his situation.
We went out to look at the stuff in the garage and about a third of it is mine, the other two thirds is Amber and Dans and stuff that none of us want. This will save on storage because I can get a smaller space. I'm going to throw out the mattress and box I'm using due to being infested with bugs again. (Oh and it's not just me, there was a story on the yahoo front page that bedbug infestations have been on a rise for the past three years.)
I have very minimal furniture needs really, Devon gets the toaster oven, Amber gets the microwave and possibly the toaster. The cabinet that the tv sat on was originally Dan and Ambers but Devon might take it depending on the size of his room. I'll be keeping the two tall dressers the spare tv, and will put an ad out for the giant sewing table that was moms. I haven't used it in years because of downsizing and as much as I'd like to keep it, it's just not going to fit in my next place. I can use a smaller folding table from Costco that I set up here.
There's a lot of freedom in knowing that my kids are going to be able to take care of themselves.
I have been looking at a quote that I found on the google homepage one day and it sort of fits this situation.
"It's kind of fun to do the impossible"
Walt Disney said that and what better model could I have than to look at what he built.
Okay, have to hop in the shower real quick and get Amber and Devon up. He's got work at noon but may be taking his bike.
I have some sorting to do as well in the next few days.
(Side note that has lessened my stress, a bone in my right foot has been kinked for the past two months and last night it finally popped back. Whew! You know how that is, it's like a cramp that won't go away and finally it did last night. It's the small things that help out.)
And on that note..off to the shower.
