a table knife.
It's so rediculous and... painful.
I was reaching into the dishwasher when I was loading it, trying to retrieve a piece of plastic that fell on the rack and my hand ran into a regular dull table knife that was point up. (I load the table ware with eating end up so the dirty water drains on the handles).
So, I hit the knife in the soft spot between your thumb and index finger. That's one of the few places that is the most difficult to heal quickly because it's an area that's constantly being used. The last time I cut that area was years ago with a pair of pruners or scissors, that was a lot deeper and took a long time to heal.
I washed this one out well and then put some Neosporin on it and tried to keep my thumb mostly close to my hand so the slice stayed closed. Should do good overnight.
This is going to cut down on my knitting and crafting activity for a bit.
