And So It Begins

This is the first in a series of posts chronicleing (doh, got that wrong I think)from August to the present. I will try and difference it somehow so people will know it's not current other than the date at the top.
Here goes.

8/11/09
First night in motel "Inn at Mission Bay". Horrid mattress and pillows. Not coming back. We have one more load to get out. Moved all weekend using a truck Saturday. Devon has been such a trooper, he's been our workhorse and assistant "hyperspacial packer".
Amber helped pack the truck Sat. and helped pack it into storage, but Devon's been here all the time. He slept on the floor of the hotel room instead of the big double bed. He was trying to be very quiet and careful when he came in last night (he went out with friends when we were done) but since I'm a lithg sleeper (part due to uncomfortable bed) I heard him come in.
The bed has two divots from constant use and feels like minimal padding over a board. Might as well have slept on the floor m yself.
We have to get Devon's bike and a few last things out and then hand in the keys and give the apartments our new mailing address.The plan today is to do that, pack everything back in the car, (or maybe get the car washed first) then check out of hotel and have a vactaion day.
We'll be trying a different hotel tonight still haven't figured out what we're going to do for actual 'vacation'. Midway Museum, it's free museum day at Balboa Park so if it's an interesting one we'll do that. I think I might pay to show Devon the Japanese Garden.
(Need to see what I have left in the bank, should be just under around $300)
I also bought a book for Devon. He wanted the third book in the 'Twilight' series so I let him get it as a thank you for him hanging in with me. (we also discovered that he has a bad dust/mold allergy)
I asked him a few days back if he was ok with what was happening and his only 'issue' was he had just gotten settled in his own room and then we had to move out. All his personal things that he needs immdediatelyt are in three bags. (his xbox360, clothers a blanket and his gaming stuff)
IU'm going to start taking some of the OTC 'menopause remedies'. It's been over a year with these hot flashes and emotiuonal stuff. I'm done with it. I got a reminder email that I'm due for my annual check up/mammogram anyway, going to talk to the dr. about it.
Need new shoes and haircut-
Devon needs new pants (and a laundry basket).


That was it for the first day. I'll try and do an entry a day from my written journal. I can't believe that it's only been a little over three months! Seems like longer.
As for today....
Got to Ambers and Ava wasn't going to school because she's got a cough, Dan's staying home so I wasn't needed. Amber didn't know until I got there...thanks. I could have slept in.
They thought their car had been stolen, but Dan had parked it at the coffee shop down the street instead of the usual spot out back.
whew! They don't have insurance either.
I do though! And I got my car an oil change/etc and got the serpentine belt replaced...my car is feeling much better! Just have to get new tires and new brakes and it'll be an almost like new used car! They even vacuumed the inside and washed the outside of the windows! Yay!
Okay going to go get some breakfast.
(just realized that I had posted this in my knitting blog, had to copy it and paste it here...whew!)
