Almost settled in...

Things are going swell so far. "The Spider Incident" as it's going to be called... well that just cemented things as far as I'm concerned.
We just got back from doing a little shopping at the store, bought light bulbs, soap, that sort of stuff. I put some things on the ceramic tile kitchen counter and Katie (my new roomie) was on the other side and I noticed something moving. It was a spider when she turned on the light. I said,
"Oh, hello spider!" It was a very small sort and I was going to deal with it but Katie sounded alarmed. Turns out she has a phobia. Before I could deal with it she brought down her hand holding one of the light bulb boxes and smashed the poor incect.
Ummm... and unfortunately the light bulb inside the box. I was almost on the floor laughing so hard I was crying. The scene was her standing with the light bulb, which she shook like a rattle, and realized what she had done. I was helpless for a few minutes.
It's great having a roommate that has a similar sense of humor, hobbies and nature as me. This is a rare thing and I like it.
Hopefully in the next few weeks we'll have the internet connection for my computer figured out and I'll be on my own machine. (Borrowing hers for now.)
I'll be at a local convention this coming weekend, Friday to Sunday, hoping to sell some of my earrings and jewelry there.
