I'm in a holding pattern...

I have lots of time on my hands right now... well not really. I just don't have any updates worth posting about. No doctor appointments or biopsies, surgery is a month away, which some people find odd. I have no idea and didn't think to ask if this were okay. Obviously if I was in a bad situation and it was moving quickly, then they would have tried to fit me in sooner. I'm okay with this really. Gives me time to do some reading about what to expect and find some projects to do when I can't be at work.
I did find out that Katie (my roommate) has some experience similar to what I will be dealing with and she's not squeamish about helping me. Yay! I am squeamish... and she'll have work but it's mostly in the afternoon (hopefully). She just doesn't like the idea of people cutting into her while she's asleep, and she doesn't like needles either. Gee..who'd have thought!
Okay, so I was looking at different new product at the fabric store and discovered some truly hideous decorations. Apparently the trend this year for Christmas is 'New England' because we have 'sparkly' lobsters and crabs. Many words went through my head to describe what these things look like but as I looked at one lobster (the antennae are huuuge! going to try and find a picture somewhere of them) and noticed that they were copper colored, with metallic looking tail and antennae.... HEY!  Steampunk Lobster!  Oh dear.  That will have to wait until later to work on, another is making some headbands and hair combs to sell at the convention I'll be selling at in February. If I can get the lobster done, it will be entered in the art show.
So, enough silliness. I have some new stuff listed on my artfire page, hoping to add some more in the next few weeks. My camera batteries are losing their staying power. I have four AA rechargeables and they are losing a charge just sitting in my camera. Piffle.
I need a new one but the equivalent is $100. I already whined about this previously.
Going to move on to the final quote which is very pertinent and is going to be in my collection. (Thanks to iGoogle for the little gadget for random quotes!)

Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less.
