Another weekly session with the doctor... I mentioned that oncology hadn't contacted me yet and he gave me a frowny look. I told him I would give them a call and he agreed.
Unless they're trying to contact me from out of state..no one except his office has tried to call me. I asked about a timeframe for the next step and he said another two sessions probably then let the skin stretch for about six weeks then go in and put the actual implant in. That puts it about mid Februrary or a bit later. I have to be sure to let them know I have a commitment to a weekend in that month and can't be out of commission.
Now watch, it'll be a case of they transcribed my number incorrectly, but since it's all electronic... I highly doubt that. Someone likely dropped the ball on my case.
Here it is, three days before Christmas and have very little to show for Christmas spirit. I have one gift for my roommate, sent off another to a friend... have two for Ava and have no clue (or enough money) to know what to do for my kids.
Oh, and still have to send off another package for sis in law. (Yes that's you Olivia, the other earrings are done..they will arrive late unfortunately)
Other than that, staying out of the valley as much as possible with all the rain. It was raining so hard in the wee hours of the morning that it woke me up! The flooding is incredible this year. I took pictures and put them in a photo album on my facebook profile.
When the water recedes I'll take reference photos for comparison.
As far as going back to work is concerned. I've been timing myself when I go out and walk around. I'm good for about an hour and a half of standing and walking, then my legs and hips start aching and I need to sit down. When it comes time for the release papers, I'm going to let the doctor know about that and maybe put down for limited work. Walking up to the corner and back is a stretch too. But that's a slight incline so it's a bit more work.
I went to the Gem and Bead Fair and walked around a good size building for roughly two plus hours. I was pooped! But after sitting for about a half hour, then walking and sitting in a movie theater I was good. So, likely about equal time standing and sitting for work will be good.
I've been sitting down entirely too much, the muscles and tendons have gotten soft.
Amber is hoping that the babies come before the new year still. I told her someone else's take on it was that babies usually come when there's a change in the weather. Well, if it's any indication, may not be until New Years..unless she can convince the doctors that they need to come out sooner.
34 weeks is the limit though, 36 is optimum, but given their size, they'll be good any time now.
I made a little more money on my crafting. Sold two sets of stitch markers to a knitting friend for someone that was coming into town and restrung two bracelets for a coworker. Almost lost the bracelets! I've been wearing my leather jacket (reproduction of WW2 bomber jacket) so the pockets are a bit shallow. The bag that had the two bracelets fell out of my pocket and along the side of the seat near the center console. Good thing I had lost another bag of beads there before and knew to check there. Almost had a panic attack on that because I had promised my coworker to bring them tonight.
The first of my stone pendants arrived! The asian style dragon carved into a tiger eye oval. I also found a beautiful teardrop shape piece of Labradorite with gorgeous color flashes... at a local bead store for less than 6$! Didn't see anything like those for a reasonable price at the fair. Go figure.
Oh I saw plenty of stuff that made me just wish I had money to spend on things like that. I'm used to the lower grade stuff I see at the local shops, but to be able to see gem quality stones, right there... incredible. Also a piece of lapis lazuli the size of my head and then some! It was a lot to look at and I was in overload by the end of the weekend. (BTW, in my opinion good grade labradorite beats out opal in my book. Good white opal like I remember when I was in high school is very rare these days)
So anywhoo....
Going to go look for something to do and get a drink of water. I had a coke yesterday around 9 and did not sleep well.
::gulp:: caffeine free coke? bleh

Oh and include in that, climbing a tree, having a nerf gun fight with your roommate or enjoying Dr. Seuss books.
