That is an understatement!
I had the best day ever at Disneyland and California Adventure! Going to spout like a little kid right now. Got tons of pictures and a few movies to show on youtube!
We got to see Carsland and walk down main street in Radiator Springs, spent most of the day at Disney and the most incredible thing happened on Space Mountain. It STOPPED! Now most people would be bummed about it and some kids would freak out and want to get off (which happened) but for us... we got to see the inside of Space Mountain with the lights on! It was so AWESOME I have video on Youtube of the last 47 seconds of our ride. We were asked by our 'rescue team' if we wanted to ride it again and gave him a very enthusiastic YES! Wandered around, it was crowded being summer and a Tuesday but still wasn't as crowded as I thought it would be.
When we first got in the gate we immediately headed to CA and got tickets for World of Color, then checked the wait time for fastpasses for the racer cars ... it was an hour and 45 minutes JUST to get the passes! We decided to not do that and went to Flo's V8 Diner and got breakfast. (All my photos are loaded on my facebook page in an album). I got to ride the monorail for the first time in decades! Granted it isn't one of those things you must do but I remember as a kid riding it around the park with my family and thought it was the coolest thing ever. It still is.
World of Color is phenomenal! Since one of our party was in a wheelchair we got handicapped seating relatively close, perfect seating actually as we had a bench to sit on while we waited. We got there about an hour early and I'm glad we did. It got packed very quickly. Personally I like Fantasmic better but this was a beautiful show and kind of sentimental.
As soon as I heard the opening song I got all choked up. World of Color was the show we watched when I was a kid. I think it was on Sundays and we got to see amazing things on that show from Disney. The water and FLAMES were incredible and I got some 'aftershow' video to put up that is rather noisy but shows some of the water and lights.
We spent over fourteen hours in the parks... Katie got to the Lego shop in Downtown Disney and I picked up a mug and a few buttons. The mug is... incredible. I don't buy mugs because I don't drink a lot of coffee or tea to use them. This is big enough to be a vase and has just about all the major movie characters from the last forty years and a cartoon panorama of Disneyland around it. Have to take a picture of it and post it soon.
Whew... what a day! We were pooped at the end but thanks to a couple of caffeinated drinks and singing to Disney movie songs we got home in one piece. Still awed at how much fun we had. We're hoping to do it again sometime around Christmas season as that's the only time I haven't been able to go and see all the decorations.
::sigh:: to quote a movie character,
