Things are going along fine so far, no major happenings, possibly some revelations in the last few weeks.
I started taking glucosamine/condroitin for my joints and arthritis. I have noticed a difference for sure in being able to move better, joints still give me a pain once in a while but not as severe. It's just making me feel like there's grease in the joints instead of grit and makes a big difference. Downside is having to take three horsepills at one time with food. Have only missed one dose but getting better at remembering to take them out with my food at lunch time.
Ever since my surgeries my right leg has been feeling stiff and swollen, as well as my feet and both hands. I found out from the lymphodema therapist that the gall bladder is part of the lymphatic system and since I had that taken out.... she said that could be a factor. I cataloged all the injuries/surgeries I've had, they're all on my right side.
List follows remembered injuries and going from feet up;
Sliced right instep when I was standing on some coke bottles, (small scar on palm of hand, have no clue what it's from), ring fingertip was nearly sliced off in heating vent (toddler age), sprained right ankle, got a deep gash in knee from sliding glass door; sprained right ankle (twice more), slammed right pinkie finger in car door needing stitches, hairline fracture of right outside bone of my hand after tripping, gall bladder removal, right mastectomy/lymph removal, now right eye is starting to get floaters and right ear hearing is less sharp.
Left side, one scar over my left eye. I'm predominately left handed.
This has got to be some sort of anomaly or record of somehow.
Okay enough personal medical history, just had to write that down for posterity.
Will be calling a guy to sell my car this week. He left a note on my window to call if it's for sale, so will be doing that as soon as I make sure I have all the paperwork in my hand for the transfer. That money will be socked away for a trip to the Northwest to visit a friend in July and pay off a couple of other bills. I originally paid $5,000 for it and figure with everything it's been through, ask for 3 and haggle to 2,500 or 2,000and tell him he'll have to tow it away as it is almost two years behind on the registration.
I have an ID card now, don't need a license if I don't have a car, that can wait until I can pay off the old fines probably with the money I get from selling the car. I still have money saved from tax return and vacation money, not a lot but it's there as a cushion for emergencies.
Katie's cat Thorin came down sick suddenly, was barfing and trying to poop everywhere. She had to take him to the vet and luckily I had spare money to be able to do that for her and he's fine now with some antibiotics.
She will be looking for a job this summer, crossing fingers she gets one. I am not complaining one bit about her not having a job. She is going to school to try and get a better job in office applications that doesn't involve children or childcare which is what her original field was. We had a little rough time at first, but with saving money from taxes and vacation, her grandmother helping out with some of her bills and rent, we're doing okay.
This all sounds like horrid stuff but honestly, it's not all that bad.Oh, Devon is still looking for a 'real' job, he's getting some practical experience working with a friend cleaning/repairing ducts and air systems. His court record hopefully gets cleared next month and then he can get financial/county aid, not be limited on work options and generally be in a better situation. Amber and Dan are doing good still, just babysat the other night and Ava is getting some 'baby fat' on her. Hoping she has a growth spurt and stretches it all out.
Okay guess that's the updates for now.
"It's kind of fun to do the impossible."
One of my favorite Walt Disney quotes.. one that I remember from time to time.
