With the new year comes changes and a hope for better things to come. As well as vacation money and tax returns! I got my hair cut on my PTO anniversary day at the nursery, then started making plans for another trip.
I got my tax return and my vacation money in the same week. I now have my return to Washington planned and booked. I even have money left over to have in reserve for paying bills when we get back from vacation AND some spending money while on vacation. I don't know what I am more excited about really. I also get paid the Friday we will be gone so there's that as well. Last time I was feeling very broke and now the timing is right and we can really enjoy ourselves.
Will be leaving April 23 and return the following Wednesday giving us an extra day for fun. Which Devon and I are really excited about.
First, it's going to be at the end of April, in the PNW, this means it will likely be raining and cold, hoping not so much though because I am planning on visiting the Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden with Devon and possibly Miki. April should be gorgeous there with a good number of plants blooming, I hope. It's Spring weather in San Diego but still colder up there, so hope there's some flowers to look at there. The website for the garden has a list of plants that are in bloom each month so I keep checking that. It looks like a beautiful walk no matter if there are flowers or not.
Second.. this is the most exciting part, we are going to the EMP Museum in Seattle.

I wanted to visit there last time but I was focused on seeing Miki, this time it's better. They are the first stop on a national tour of Star Wars and the Power of Costume. YES! If this is the same exhibit that we saw in L.A about eight years ago, it's incredible! Costumes from all six movies plus props and according to the info through the museum some behind the scenes info about the designs and the designers. I am so excited about this!
Oh yeah and other stuff there too that's awesome. The building itself is incredible as well, looking very much like a sound wave. Since this is primarily a pop culture museum focusing on music, there is an exhibit about Jimi Hendrix, Nirvana, the Spectacle of Music Videos... I wasn't much of a fan of any of those but it's cool anyway. Due to it still being winter up there, they're only open till 5pm, we have reserved a viewing time at 11:40 on Friday, so I hope that enough time to see everything.
I also discovered that Bruce Lee's burial place is in Seattle. Did not know that and will be asking if Devon wants to go see that. We're doing the tourist thing this time not the full run because neither of us wants to go up in the Space Needle, or see a cruise ship which is part of their CityPass deal. The museum only cost $29 each person and the garden is only $8. Why pay for stuff we aren't going to see?
So I will be a lot better about taking pictures and loading them onto my computer in chronological order this time since I have a brand new phone that doesn't die in a half day connected to the web and my laptop has a battery that's holding a charge as well.
Yay for stuffs!
There has been other stuff happening with the kids and a little with me that was not very pleasant, but it's over now. Mostly just the issues between Dan and Amber, but we're working it out. Devon is still taking one class a semester until we can try to get him funding for school. He's on the payroll for the business he's working for so that's a good thing. When they have work.
Other than that, health is good, work is chugging along and we still have a roof over our heads.
I'M GOING TO WASHINGTON AGAIN!
Sorry had to get that out, so exctied!
