And so it begins....

Vacation that is.
Writing this from our overnight stay at a hotel near the Seattle airport.
Worked from 9-4 at Beverly's, then took the bus home, double checked everything, realized Devon needed money in his account to rent the car so took care of banking then off to the airport.
Flight was at 7:55, we got there around 7, started boarding at 7:15. Despite cloudy weather on both ends, turbulence was minimal. Temp when we left was in the high 60's, damp but no rain though there was a high percentage chance. When we finally were on approach to Seattle, Devon opened the window shade and we saw this:
Frost on the outside rim of the window. Temp in Seattle was 46, so not surprising there was a bit of frost on the window. I've only ever flown in warm weather so it gave me a moment of small concern until I realized the air temperature where we were.
So, sitting in bed posting right now. Rental car was again a hassle because of Devon's account having problems. Hopefully by the time we do this again, I will have my license back and he can still drive or I can. Alamo was able to use my card to pay for the car and put Devon as the driver.
I have money in the bank now, and we're going to head out to get some breakfast. First stop after that depends on our timing. Going to the EMP museum (Experience Music Project I found out is what it stands for) for the Star Wars costume exhibit, since my friend Miki has work today, we'll just fill in with other touristy stuff. See the 'troll bridge', which isn't far from the museum. In several cities around the country there are some bridges that have large carvings/statues of trolls hiding under one side of the bridge. Pictures to come of that of course.
Not sure if we're going to repeat our visit to the small park we saw last time, it's much cooler this time of year and it is technically Spring so it will definitely look different. It's still very exciting, I'm a bit more relaxed about flying, and another lesson learned is try to get the exit seats. There are only two seats and gives us a lot more leg room. I was squeezed in between Devon and another gentleman which made it cramped for doing any knitting or pulling out my laptop. I am not the skinny young miss I used to be so need my leg and elbow room.
Still hate flying. My ears are still trying to adjust from the pressure change coming in. That and the roller coaster stomach lurching effect going up and coming down, never did like it and never will. I can tolerate it, but that is the closest I can get. It's not like I can do anything about it  and since it only happens when I'm on a plane, guess it's not really a complaint. hahah.
Okay it is now 8 am, the temperature is 41 degrees and I'm hungry.
Oh, this particular hotel is the Radisson, they charge $20 a night to park in their parking lot. Not a fan. Will remember not to book this hotel next time.
Devon is so adorable, since he knows HVAC  he noticed that there was a vent in the bathroom and was rather dumbfounded at how stupid that was. Above the shower head mind you and even I know that's kind of stupid. I commented on how old the control panel looked in the room and he said 'this isn't old, we've worked on stuff from the 60's and 70's, this is only maybe ten years old'.  Love my son.
My only regret is I left my ipod at home. Didn't think I'd need it since I have Pandora radio on my phone. Except you have to put your phone in airplane mode during flight. Sigh. Oh well.
Really getting hungry now, Devon didn't sleep well but we're up and moving so need to get this day rolling.
