Exercise and feeling productive

Despite still no word from SS and feeling like I needed to do something to move it along faster I decided to step up...(hahah) my exercise regimen that I started a week ago. I have until April to lose some weight and get my blood sugar down and my vitamin D up to make the doctor and myself happier. I've been stretching and doing light exercise to increase my flexibility and balance as most seniors need to. Gods... never thought about the day I'd call myself that.

Jon has a shoe that is falling apart and doesn't want to walk long distances so I decided to walk by myself. I've been doing light exercise and stretching while I'm out with Rocky since I have mostly just stand around as he eats grass and tries to chase lizards. I decided to take a walk around the block today which has an ever so slight incline in two directions.

Cool, might as well download an app to count my steps and calories burned. Wellll that didn't go so well. I downloaded it after I had left the complex and maybe went half a block. Made sure it was going and then put it in my pocket. I walked at a good pace, not leisurely ambling so my breathing and heart rate would get a good work out. I'm sued to being on the go at work so being able to move quickly felt great.

Got through the gate at the complex and four residents are having a chat in the middle of the 1 person wide sidewalk, one on her porch is smoking upwind of me so it was coming toward me. Cough... wonderful. I finally jokingly hollered, 'you're blocking the roadway here...coming through!' they all knew me so we chuckled and I headed to our place. Going up the stairs wasn't as bad as previous times so that felt good too.

Well the app... much not register when it's not open because it said I only did about 100 steps and hardly any feet. Sigh. Get on the computer and measured the distance.

3,267 ft. Well it's a bit off due to the way I had to measure so I'm calling it 3k feet which is just shy of a half mile. My goal is to get to a half mile, then 3/4 then a full mile in three months. I'm giving it 3 months due to not walking every day for various reasons. Anyway.. also eating more salad, less bread, reducing my portions and soda intake and going to bed a little hungry. Started up my knitting again while I sit at the computer instead of getting snacks. If I do feel like nibbling I get some cheese and crackers or an apple or both and of course, more water.

We still don't have rent money for this month, don't think we ever got a receipt for December either. Need to check with the manager on that, we can only pay half the rent this month until my ss kicks in which may not happen until next month. If this delays long enough I'll be filing for unemployment in April or May. Tax filing will happen in February and depending on those delays might get that money by March.

I have been dream scrolling again, looking at actual house plans rather than houses for sale. Because what else do I have to do?  My credit score continues to improve as I have been on time with my lone credit card payment for three months. I had to use it a few times for food because I wanted a sandwich dangit(last month). But even those three purchase only come to about $60 and it isn't due until next month and the minimum is usually 40 so I think we're okay. Haven't paid the electric bill, cable is still being 'paid' by my utilities credit thing. My storage isn't due until the 10th and even then you aren't charged a late fee for another week after that so it's still going to not get paid. We have so few bills and yet still can't get a surplus enough to save up. I am optimistic though, one way or another we'll get through everything and figure it out.

My brain still thinks I'm in my 30's with planning on getting a house but my age says ummm not so much time left there bucky. Thinking young keeps me young I suppose. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
