I found it.

I decided to stop looking in WA and look at Northern CA. I first started in my area and yes there were 'affordable' homes but they were old, single wides, or if not they were in a park where the lot lease was over $1000. So took the boundary off and move the map out and north, moving quickly past LA and central CA, past the Bay area and somehow stopped when I saw Shasta. There were lots of homes and I went from just houses to mobile homes before changing the map. There were a lot all mid to high range. I saw a couple that looked good on the outside, saw a couple of cheap ones, even saw one in Grass Valley and another in Paradise. Yes..that Paradise that got wiped off the map by a wildfire.

Then there was this beauty. The new grey color and white caught my eye first, the olive trees in front, location is on the East side of Clear Lake....

So far pretty good looking, it's $300k which is unfortunately out of our price range... Then noticed the solar panels on the garage. Bonus!

The gas stove! The large fridge! The dishwasher! the cabinets and flooring in good to excellent condition!

It is a 2 bed/2ba but the second bedroom...

A freaking Murphy bed! I thought it was a cupboard or closet at first then this picture was next and I just about freaked out.

Then... then there's the backyard...

Six raised beds, a hoop garden bed, grapevines on the arbors, and that tree there, that's one of several mature almond trees! Oh it has a spa tub too...

Then I saw the aerial view of it and realized, it has two full solar panel arrays for total electrical independance!

What a beauty! Olive trees in front but those take special process for actually using the olives. Now the only thing it doesn't have is adaptable patio deck for a catio. Jon loves everything about it other than the vines. I can go either way with them and it also depends on what kind of grapes they are. The other downside is the patch of what looks like bamboo on the left at the back. Bright green, can't miss it almost blends in with the 'spring' grass.

So that's it. That's the one I want. I just noticed that the orchard is accessible on the left from the street. Yep doesn't appear to have a fence so it's open for anyone to come back and harvest them. Bit of a property issue there but easy peasy to put in a gate if it came down to it. It's on a court street as well and the area looks like it used to be a ranch, possibly almonds or pear orchards.

Google street view is from 2012 and there's a 5th wheel and maybe another RV parked on the left side so that answers why it's open.

I have never wanted any home so bad until now. By the time we have the money to actually get a loan, that will be snapped up for sure. SIGH
