I looked at the criteria for getting the USDA direct loan for housing. At the top of the list is 'Be without decent, safe and sanitary housing'. Well that leaves us out unfortunately and second on the list is 'Be unable to obtain a loan from other resources on terms and conditions that can reasonably be expected to meet'. Given enough time we can likely get to that.
Only other way to qualify under the USDA no down loan is to apply to start a farm or ranch. Right. Not happening at our age. Sigh... pie in the sky dreams go poof.
I WILL get a house with my dream yard. Just not right now as much as I want it. I nudged Jon again about consolidating storage by getting rid of some stuff for the sake of house money. I promised him when I found out about all his collections that I wouldn't tell him it was worthless and get rid of it. That is totally different than selling things to get a bigger house. We hoped to get to storage but he went negative in the bank and after him giving me his half of the rent we're still short for this month by $200. After that is paid I'll have $58 left in the bank until next month. Not good at all. Still have to pay credit card to keep that up and i think the phone bill is paid and car insurance, storage is paid... sigh.
Come on SS give me a call please with good news. If I don't hear from them by Friday will call the local office.
If I could rewind time.... who knows what we would be doing right now.
