I don't usually talk about what's happening in the world here, this is my blog about my life but just for posterity here goes.
The Orange Former President was found guilty on 34 counts of fraud and other charges. These are felony charges and for anyone else, they would likely serve jail time and get a hefty fine. Jon is happy and so am I. He lived in NY and had met in passing Trump a time or two. True New Yorkers hate Trumps guts.
If only we were that lucky. What is really sad is, a felony conviction does not disqualify someone from running for president. Very sad on that but I hope he gets a resounding lack of votes and is rejected by the majority of people. I don't usually gloat about misfortunes of others. This isn't a misfortune this is justice served and it still isn't enough to keep that pestilence from being in the news any longer.
I never want to hear his name or see his face ever again.
Okay enough of political rant.
So here's a picture of Rocky fast asleep on the bed.Blue skies, wonderful temperatures and enjoying the weather for the short time it will be here until summer comes roaring in again. Garden is going okay, plants are getting a very, very late start unfortunately but hopefully that means they'll last longer into the fall.
We got our monies for the month, splurged on a $16 meal deal for two at another favorite sandwich shop Firehouse Subs. Out of our way but can't beat that price for feeding two people on great food.Food money comes on the weekend so we'll stock up again with that. Sodas, chicken and a few other things are on sale at the store so it'll be good. We stopped at Costco on the way home from dropping the boys off and got gas and picked up paper goods. Half a tank of gas for about $30, is what it is sadly.
Still confused about SDGE but since they didn't turn off the power and I didn't get any notice, they got my payment on time. Main account page still says nothing due but current charges are the same. I'll still pay whatever it shows on the date it's due until otherwise told not to. We're able to hold our own right now but could use some more wiggle room. We had to get some bread and milk the other day and it zeroed out my account. Thankful they don't ding me anymore for having zero. I was literally $1.57 short because I thought I had $11 and only had $7.50. Jon did some quick phone bank app shifting of some change in his account so we could get what we needed. High finance at the self check out, felt sorry for the lady that came over three times to clear the screen while we did that.
Oh, a few weeks ago I had odd stomach pain on my left side and burping that eased the pain after I had some spicy food and something that had a lot of fat in it, then looked up symptoms of a stomach ulcer and that was one of them. No signs of blood in my stools, nothing else happening so I stopped taking the Alleve for three weeks and made sure to eat milder food and take my other supplements with a good helping of food and not just some toast or something. It's gotten better thankfully, slowly easing back into my usual diet but scaling back on my soda intake. Give up spicy food? Ummm not happening. I'll not have as much salsa and chips, go for more savory foods rather than spicy but am not giving up on flavor. I had a good sandwich today and a soda and barely had any burping so that's a good sign, I also took an alleve with my other supplements immediately after I ate. Something else is having smaller portions as well. That's a bit harder.
Going to try and get oil change this month and maybe find a sweet price on kitchen gadgets I need. Or maybe garden stuff. I need fertilizer for my garden more than a mixer or something from the thrift store.
It's simple things that make my life a little easier. My phone isn't one of them. It's still been giving me fits. An alert for a message but it's for something I supposedly turned off. There's something about updates and it lets you know when it's done then had a timer menu for repeating the alarm but nothing to say sleep or none. So up until yesterday it was going off every hour, I found it again set it for two hours then filtered through all my settings and alerts and apps and finally just turned off permissions and alerts for everything except for maybe three things that I use every day. That finally shut it off.
Grrumble. At least I fixed the photo thing for syncing. That was also a chore and a half. Geeez.
The boys last day of school is in a week, so will be saving on gas for the next two months.
So that's basically it for now. Nothing amazing fantastic, still knitting on two pairs of adult socks, a pair of teeny tiny baby socks for a friend, started a cat nest bed for Rocky in crochet but have to rip that back and start over because one section isn't the same size as the others. Oh yeah and a halt for Devon. Do I need anymore yarn? No, not really. I was able to wind up some yarn so it feels like I have new yarn.
It was a nice day today.
