Greenlight go! So far.

My loving daughter gave us Lyft gift cards to get her off the hook for rides and then some so I had loaded one of them on my account and ordered a pick up for this morning to the doctor office. All well and good, driver was nice enough, generic and all that, not the same as the one we had before sadly. Got me to the medical complex no problem. Did not order a return trip because I didn't know how long it would take and also had the idea to stop at Trader Joe's just up the street before going home.

As for the visit, doctor just asked a few questions, confirmed what was going on, got my vital signs, poked my abdomen, listened to my heart and lungs... badabing badaboom all done and good to go.

Now.... the easy part was over. I also needed to get a promised blood draw for cholesterol and other things but it completely left my brain due to my mind being on food because I had even fasted this morning, which means I had not had food for at least 12 or more hours so running on fumes. I walked down the street to Trader Joe's to pick up something with avocado in it, sour cream and maybe some treats. The plan was pollo asado tacos for lunch when I got back.

Okay so got the aforementioned items and stood outside to order another ride and suddenly realized I had forgotten to get the blood draw! Just when the driver got there. I apologized profusely and told him the situation he was more than happy to take me back up the road and drop me off.  Cue tense music....

I left my phone in his car. Which I did not realize until I finished my blood draw. I had my knitting purse, multiple pockets and the TJ bag and it somehow magically never made it into any of those things.

I was panicking because I knew that the only way to contact Lyft or the driver was...through the app on the phone. The two receptionists were slow as molasses and were trying to help me going through the website. One of them mentioned a few times 'why don't you call your phone?' I kept saying 'with what?' rather tense and frustrated. After the fact I know what she meant. Really need to see her again and apologize to both of them and thank them. Side note: I had brought my knitting with me and I had dropped a stitch waiting for the doctor so that was boogered up even more when I was frustrated and frantic so at least I had time to fix that before the kind Samaritan showed up.

Another patient (lady with a bad foot) who had heard all this walked up and asked if I wanted to use her phone to call my phone. It dawned on me then what the other lady was saying.... I owe her an apology. I called and luckily the driver picked up the phone and immediately said what the situation was and I replied, 'I'm the customer who left the phone in your car'. Told him I'd meet him back at TJ's, the rest is a big sigh of relief, multitudes of thank you and no way to give him a tip or a review.

So.... I had messaged Jon when I was waiting at TJ's that I was going to be on my way home, so that was another worry I had that he would get the message and then wonder where I was and try to call the phone....Well it turns out, he didn't bother checking messages (messenger in this case) until his phone rang and I was actually on my way home.

The treats I got were dark chocolate covered orange sticks (always a favorite) and dark chocolate with cocoa nibs and sea salt. I couldn't find the dark chocolate caramels sadly but these will do. I am now fed, cooled down and relaxing in AC while it is  85+ outside.

Tomorrow's appointment is a phone call from pre-anaesthesia, then Friday is the ultrasound on my thyroid. Monday is appointment with Dr. K for pre-op with him and that's it. Countdown until surgery on August 4.

I just checked to see if that was all and my blood test results are already posted. My cholesterol for the most part is high. Triglicerides and LDL are High and Non HDL is high as well. Overall value is 261, which is High when normal is below 200. Hooboy.  It's skyrocketed since August of last year according to the 'trend chart'. Well looks like I'm going to be on some medicine for that as well. And adjusting types of food I eat of course. All the other basic panel readings including glucose are within normal range. Although on the glucose number it has a 'Has the patient been fasting for 8 hours? No' is incorrect. I will have to tell the doctor that when she messages me about the results. But at least all that is in the green.

So now the mental and financial preparation for surgery and recovery next month. Buggers...
