I am home now.

What an absolutely ugly and uncomfortable 24 hours. I am now home, washed the smell of hospital off me and other stink and am on my laptop. Rocky and Jon are ecstatic I am home. He fixed 2 scrambled eggs and I ate it all!

I ended up hoping that going to urgent care would be sufficient. I was worse than I thought. It wasn't just coughing, it wasn't just congestion, it wasn't side effects from the pills.

I was having AFib aka Atrial Fibrilation likely due to my potassium level being at .2 (which I didn't find out until I was in a hospital room.) Normal is between 4 and 5. Potassium is the main heart mineral that helps regulate it. Remember a while back and I complained about someone in the complex having some machine that was making thumping noises? That was me. It was only in my left ear and exactly was AFib irregular rhythm. Now, why didn't three previous EKG catch this? Because it wasn't 'regular' irregularity'. They could run the leads for 15 or 30 seconds and then just as they disconnect I might have an episode. It took the urgent care to run a 'tap' long enough to catch the now more 'regular' fribilations. The doctor listened to my heart and said, 'yep it's triple beating away'. So they ordered an ambulance to tranport me to the main Sharp hospital ER. The EMT's were a hoot, two young guys, Dartagnion (no idea how he spelled it) was my companion along with the older female So many faces and names to try and remember. When he came in and announced his name I had to holler, 'My Hero!.

So as emergency  intakes go it went as usual. The EMT's can't leave until the patient is released to an ED room. CT scan, ultrasounds, lab work, whole plethora of things I can't remember now. Barely a moment or two would seem to go by and a nurse or doctor would come in and explain the findings of the lab work or another procedure that was ordered. I was exhausted but kept up my typical humorous banter of oversharing personal experience or someone elses.

Oh interesting thing, they did a CT scan with and without contrast (I think on my heart?) and they warned that it would feel like I'm peeing myself but I'm not. Absolute weirdest sensation ever! I think I had a CAT scan with is different.

I had an electrocardiogram done of my heart and ultrasound of my liver because one of my 'liver enzymes' was a bit off and they wanted to make sure it wasn't damaged. The ECG of my heart is an ultrasound and because it was under my boob.... ouchie!

Oh yeah and my phone decided to go spazz on me. Seriously if it doesn't recovered from it's current cycle between the Samsung and Cricket splash pages, I am going to have to get a new phone. I wanted to let it run to zero but Jon just plugged it in when I got home. I just unplugged it and hope it runs down. I'll see if I can find some help online.

Good news is, it's been warm weather! Yay! Off to recharge my battery a bit and let other friends know I'm alive.
