First, a tentative wedding date is June 16. That will be nailed down when I get consensus from 'the wedding planners' (Amber and Ava)
Yes June is a classic wedding month but here's why it's good for San Diego:
'June Gloom' is a thing. Warm but not too warm, overcast days, temps never get above the low 70's and cloud cover (aka 'marine layer') is prevalent through the morning.
The 16th is a Tuesday, the site we've picked is a county park and therefore a popular place to be on a weekend. Early June the SD County Fair is going and the park is one exit away from the fairgrounds but it is closed on Monday and Tuesday, so less traffic to deal with.
Oh and yes I snagged 2 tickets to the Star Wars Celebration next year! By the time I remembered I needed to get them it was well after 9 am when they went on sale so I got two individual days for Friday and Saturday.
I am SO STOKED! Other than ComiCon this is the biggest thing I've attended in years and we're excited!
Now the planning has begun in earnest. Wedding theme has been agreed on as low key Star Wars. Lightsabers will be had for all.
I am planning my outfit as a unique Jedi gown/tunic and pants. Jon will be wearing a simple red grey marbling swirl vest, white shirt and pants. I'm hoping for blues and cream for mine. Yes I plan on trying to make my own dress. I plan on wearing it to SWC as well along with an actual lightsaber hilt I'll be ordering from Ultrasabers.
I've started a wedding website for people to register on and organize rsvp's and all that. SO much simpler than trying to contact people second hand for physical addresses like the first time.

I've also started a facebook group for the people that are connected on there to get emails and contacts.
I plan on helping both Kiri and Devon come for the wedding and just talked with Kiri and told her I expect her boys to come as well.
So that's the update for now, if any reading this don't want to contact me through facebook just message me with email and physical address if you think I don't have it. I would like to have the guest list compiled and save the dates sent out by the end of July.
Now as for other realities: We are flying up to Washington the second week of July, have two days to contact apartments/job locations and possibly see some sights. It's all been booked through Expedia and a done deal. Time off from work is approved and everything paid for already.
This would not be possible if not for my 401k fund from the nursery.
We are good to stay where we are at least until end of July. I've agreed to pay a little more in rent for that month and we're good for June while we clean and replace stuff that needs it. Since I'm now full time I only have two days a week free for doing things but we can manage.
