Interesting times and no good news.

We stayed at a Motel 6 across the street from CA Suites. Again, due to cost not the best of places but it was a roof over our heads.
We are now in San Marcos at a Days Inn, upstairs with the window facing the freeway exit. So opening the window is not a real option most of the time due to noise. Wifi is fast and stable thankfully. Took a little while to get the tv working with cable, we are now in the habit of checking the room first before bringing stuff in. Maintenance guy had to move the cable box from behind the tv to in front so the remote would work with it.
Due to the Coronavirus pandemic most everything is closed. We are lucky to have a lot of food places around that have take out or drive through and the Home Depot is right across the street.
McDonald's is our regular place for breakfast now with variations of other places for lunch and dinner. Been having entirely too much meat and bread and not enough salad and fruit and I can feel it. Feet are killing me by the end of a work day even with insole addition.
With cable and regular channels on the tv it is hammering home not only the desperate situation the world is in but also why I gave up on regular tv. Commercials, staged 'reality' shows and endless news and commercials again.
Despite many places saying they are hiring, nothing is coming up for Jon to get a call back. Without additional income we are still stuck not having any choices in a new place to live.
It is breaking my heart seeing Jon being nervous and antsy when we go out and when we check into a new room. We are never in a 'good' area of town so his cop side is constantly on alert. The rooms are not spacious so his claustrophobia is always simmering under the surface. I can tell when he's on edge and have to stop once in a while and give him a look and a kiss to tell him I see him and understand.
Neither of us can risk getting sick. I have a lingering throat cough from being sick back in January and is compounded by cold weather. It goes away by the time warm weather gets here but in the meantime if I go to work I have to get some cough medicine to quiet it.
(TV in the background, Jon is watching History channel I think on the history of popcorn, then chewing gum and now coca cola. Rather distracting.)
Here's hoping that the pandemic is under control and subsided by August. We have tickets to go to the Star Wars convention in Anaheim. A lot of experts are saying it may be a year before things are back to some semblance of 'normal'.
All we need is a break right now. Collectively and personally.
Keep having day dreams about a house with a yard, enough rooms to have my craft room, a geek room (mancave) and our bedroom. Maybe a garage for Jon to tinker in.
Sigh.
I'd settle for an apartment at this point.

Sans Domicile out.
