That my walkabout is jinxed. Amber took my car down to their mechanic friend downtown because the 'Needs Coolant' light has been on for a week despite putting some in three weeks ago.
The radiator has a leak and will need to be replaced within a month. Greeeat. Kiss that car goodbye. Her friend can do it for around $200 but that's two hundred that I don't have right now or next month. Actually, if I get my vacation money the next paycheck...guess where that's going. I get two weeks of vacation pay which is about $950. I have to save at least half that for actual vacation recoup and the other I half I was hoping to save. I will likely end up using most of it to pay for the car repairs and catching up on bills. Again.
I'm taking a weekend off at the end of the month to attend a local con called ConDor. Very small, which is why I want to go and am not going to Comicon. Trying to stay out of the rat race in that venue because last year I mostly wandered around and looked at the same stuff fifty times, got bumped and crowded more times than I wanted and didn't get to see as much as I had planned. It's just too much of a hassle and I never have money to spend there let alone save so I'm not down a week of pay after the con.
I wanted to take a week off during the summer and go up to Tahoe to visit Amber and just see the mountains again. I haven't seen Tahoe in person in over twenty years. Once again, vacation plans are thrown out the window by keeping bill collectors at bay and a roof over my head and food in the fridge.
I did some more writing tonight, no more than a page or two. Just dragging the story along waiting for more inspiration to strike. Hard to concentrate even with music that helps me get in the mood. I think I'm going to go hit the sack early tonight. I went to bed around eleven last night and only woke up once when Amber came home and she and Devon were having a 'heated discussion' about the Magic game they just played.
In order for my room not to be freezing, I have to leave the door open a bit to let the warmer air of the living room and heater to drift in there. I'm on the uphill side of a slope so the cold air settles in my room as it falls past the building.
Okay, some combination of keys changed the brightness on my screen, I have to go fiddle with the preferences and see what shortcut that is and disable it.
Besides, I'm tired and should get to bed.
