A litle further in cleaning

As a preface, for those that don't remember or know, I'm not the worlds best housekeeper.
In fact, I'm lazy and disorganized.
You should see the kitchen though. It's the closest it's been to move in status since...well since we moved in over fourteen months ago. Rather proud of myself in that. I've been working on it for a few days, piles of rubbermaid containers with who knows what in it. I'm throwing out the blue Glad 'disposable' containers.
I'm reducing the amount of things in my posession. Kind of a Buddhist thing, the more possessions you put value in, the less worth you are. Something like that.
so, I'm divvying up the dishes and kitchen utensils since I won't need twelve or fourteen plates or several dozen cups. I'm going to keep four dinner plates, four sandwich plates four coffee cups and four regular glasses. I'll keep the similar amount of flatware as well. It's all going to get boxed up anyway and stored.
Amber is getting the majority of baking supplies, cake dishes, cupcake pans and such.
Oh, I noticed the box that was marked 'Train Set' that's not really mine. I'd like to send that back to Debby since it belonged to Dave and Tim. Oh and the paper doll collection too. I have a box of my horse collection that I think is going to go to Goodwill. It's just some Breyer horses and a few ceramic ones, and my doll collection that Amber will get.
All this stuff that seemed important at the time, just doesn't seem that emotionally important now.
I'm sure there's a few other boxes of things that I don't really need anymore. My personal hobby stuff I'm keeping, cross stitch and beading and knitting things. I have at least a box of paper back books that I'm going to donate to the library, fantasy and sci fi books are seriously lacking in most libraries.
My LP's on the other hand are nearly worthless... a collection of John Denver, Neil Diamond and assorted soundtrack and Broadway musicals. I have no idea if any of them are worth anything. I looked at other people's offerings on eBay for John Denver and it wasn't very promising.
I'll be doing some serious sorting tomorrow after I drop off Amber and Devon, plus make a trip to P.B. to talk to the shop owner about the markers I have down there.
We have two folding 'Cosco' tables, the plastic ones you can get at Costco, one is smaller than the other and I'm going to take the smaller one. Amber can have the bigger one along with the particle board and cutting mat that fits on it. If she's taking my sewing machine, she'll need that.
Kind of boring cataloging all this now, but I need to write it down somewhere.
I was going to buy some lock top boxes to swap out for some cardboard boxes but I ran out of money. I had to pay the cable bill to get service back on and then pay the rest on the next paycheck.
Oh, Devon's friend rented the room to someone else dangit, but he's looking on Craig's list for other opportunities. He'll be down at Mesa tomorrow with gaming buddies so he can also take care of getting paperwork restarted for the Fall. He has to go to the DMV and get a replacement ID card as well as a new ID card for school. (see older post about Dan losing his wallet on the top of the car)
So anyway... work was okay, kind of slowing down the last two days, have to see what happens over Memorial Day weekend.
Let's see, anything else....
pricing camping gear, renewing AAA membership, letting Costco lapse, get car tuned up, (it looks sooo pretty and sparkly now that it's clean on the outside).
Just to summarize, not renting someplace will save me $1250 a month in rent, $150 for cable, $45 for SDGE, $39 rental insurance, and $29 water and trash fees.
That's $1513 a month!
Now to put it in perspective... a mobile lifestyle if I spend a night here and there in an actual facility of some sort TOPS would cost me less than rent. If this lasts longer than expected I will likely start looking for a place in mid to late October. Maybe as early as September. Ooh, that reminds me, I have to register Ava's birthday with the Disney site to get her in free on her birthday. Going to see if we can make arrangements to go up there between our birthdays and still get the freebie. That would be fun!
It would be her first trip there and if we all went it would be a great family vacation in the fall.
Okay I've rambled on enough. It's midnight good lord!
