I dropped off the paperwork for full disability yesterday and am off until about July or August. I put down July, the doctor wrote in August...so whatever works. I hope I have enough energy (and money) to do some things that are coming up. There is an SCA event at the end of May that I'd like to go to, even if it's for one day. I haven't been to an event since we moved down here. This would be a war out in the desert only an hour away or so, drivable without a problem. This also means I have to find my skirt and tunic somewhere in storage. Or fabric to make a new one, which I was doing anyway but that's not fabric suitable for going to the desert.
Got a good kind of notice in the mail that one of my credit cards that went to a collection agency is paid off! Yay! So that's one less bill and $157 that's not coming out of my account this month.
The weather there's a 30% chance of rain tomorrow now, yesterday it was partly cloudy for Sunday. Dangit! Devon and I connected and we've planned on meeting at noon for our walk. Don't know where yet, I think I'll leave that up to him. He's done a lot of hiking back canyons and such, I'm not as nimble as I used to be, so we'll have to stick with standard trails I think. He said he had no definite plans for his camping trip, just wanted supplies so he can start planning it. Okay. that gets me off the hook for a bit, there's plenty of summer weather coming so we've got time. I'll get him the electric shaver he actually needs and wants and take him out to dinner for his birthday. He said he's tried some beers and most are nasty. Good. I asked Katy if I could bring him over for his birthday, she's got a near full bar stocked for free! We'll see how that works out.
Okay, roommie and I are going to do some grocery shopping and sewing prep today. She has to sew some black out curtains for her stepdad out of fabric that I have seen in other colors and mooned over for costuming. Microfiber suede...yum.
I'm getting back into cross stitch as well, starting with a kit that was left by someone at the fabric store, four Christmas card motifs with the card frames and envelopes! So if I get them done, four people on my list will be getting one as a gift! There's no framing involved, just a little blocking and placing them in the card frame ...voila! I may just do one and then move on to the projects I really want to do.
1. An Egyptian Sampler by Theresa Wentzler. I just bought that the other day (used a Michael's gift card I forgot I had), showed it to Katie the Egyptiophile
2. The Unicorn by the same lady. This project was lost two moves ago unfortunately. I was about half done with it. Luckily I could find the pattern again and had bought extra black fabric it needed and the folder with all the thread I needed wasn't lost. Just the project and the thread card I had with it. The thread is in one of my storage boxes..
I also discovered that my eyes being older, I can't do the small count patterns anymore. The Christmas cards are on 14 count fabric and it seems really tiny to me now. I need new glasses or a magnifier and bright light. ::sigh::
I'm still knitting, sort of. Finished a sleeve for a bed jacket I wanted to make. Have to pull out the other ball of yarn for the second sleeve and have yarn for the back. Of all the simple things to knit, I've given up on hats. I just can't seem to get it right for myself. I may be moving again into another phase of crafting... but that's okay.
All life is movement, forward, backward, sideways..up, down...

I must not be working hard enough then. ;-)
