Yesterday turned out to be rougher than I expected. Tylenol did not cut it and when it was time for bed finally I took only one Vicodin instead of two. Took the edge of somewhat enough so I could get some rest. Woke around 1 about when the med wore off and heard in the distance coyotes! I knew they were around but since I'm not usually awake at that hour and it's not usually quiet enough.. it was totally cool. I rolled over and went back to sleep, fitfully.
Today is a bit better, I can at least move around without too much discomfort and keeping the blood flowing actually helps a bit. I might walk up to the Rite Aid and get an ice cream cone. Katie's got work today, session restarted so she's out again during the day. Her other job prospects are ... moving forward. Just as we get a notice that their raising the rent again. If we sign a 1 year lease, it's $40 more instead of $60 more.
We'll try and muddle through, now is not a good time to go hunting for a new place.
I had a strange and twisted idea to go stand on the corner at a traffic light like all the other homeless people with a sign.. "Cancer Patient Needs Rent Money." Wearing a bandana on my head... it would be kind of obvious. I'm not that desperate though, the money's coming, just late. I should really look into getting my story sent out to editors or agents, but again that would be a long shot and would not help me right now. But.. who knows?
So the news is all full of the Bin Laden story, and my cynical attitude is, the man is expendable... the problem is still there. People are dancing in the street.. and that affects me in my personal life how? It's like politics... whoopeee. IS there some way this can help me and my roommate? Nope..not a bit. So... life goes on just as it has.
I think I'm definitely going to get an ice cream cone, it's very warm here now and Rocky Road is calling my name. (Making sure to wear a ball cap over the bandana).
"If you believe the doctors, nothing is wholesome; if you believe the theologians, nothing is innocent; if you believe the military, nothing is safe" - Lord Salisbury
Yup.. got it in spades with that one.
