Well that was an adventure...

Some of you already know... we had a major power crash in So. Cal yesterday. Apparently someone dumbthumbed something in Arizona causing the entire grid from TJ to L.A. to crash.  We were without power from about 3:30 to almost midnight where I am, it varied depending on what area you were in.
Other than not having any ventilation and the temp being in the 90's.... I survived. I made myself productive and created a netted necklace with a beautiful autumn fire trapezoid bead. It's going up on artfire as soon as I'm done here.
Luckily my ipod was charged so I played solitaire until I got tired and just lay down. If it weren't for the guy across the major street trying to play guitar. Oh it was bad. Because of the cooler air it sounded like he was right outside my window. I suspect he might have been a bit drunk or just was so awful on an untuned guitar it made up for the difference. Geez. I was so tempted to just yell 'Go get some lessons!'.
So we have power, but I still need to get my car started. I believe it needs a new battery because it dies if I don't drive it at least every other day. Going to have to call AAA and pay for the extra service call to get it jumped and then pay the yellow envelope ticket on the window. Likely for the expired tags which the DMV never sent me a notice about before JUNE. Being off work I didn't realize what month it was until I thought for a second. I have money now to get the tags but without the DMV notice, I can't just go to AAA and get my registration. I can try, but we'll see what happens as soon as I can get it working.
Other than that... have to deal with the insurance company for my down time, make sure a few other ducks are in the row and get ready for going back to work.
Going to go check the news and see what the story is for today. Schools are closed all over the county, some businesses are still closed so it's going to be interesting to see how far we stumble over this.
