Friend is much better, kids are doing good: Amber is getting regular paychecks, the grandboys are being monitored for Autism, Ava is turning into quite the young girl, Devon is currently driving with one of his friends to Washington to help his friend scout out a new place to live. Devon would like to move up there as well but he will be looking at jobs up there first.
As for me, I cut my hair a little over a week ago, it was way overdue and with all the talk about the first day of spring, I figured the yearly shearing would fit right in.
Took a week of vacation so Katie, Devon and I could attend ConDor Convention and sell some of our stuff. We didn't do as well as last year by less than half. We did about $200 this year compared to $700 last year. Told Katie not to be discouraged, no one did well this year, evidenced by the art show having very, very few bid sheets written on.
My haircut is the same style as my profile picture on facebook, it seemed the best looking style that everyone complemented me on before.
As for other things, one of my other resolutions was to try and get my room organized and cleared which also is stalled out even though I had two extra days off to do what I needed, other things came up so nothing more got done. Bit by bit though, one step at a time it'll get whittled down.
Creatively, I learned a new bead technique and am trying to do as much as I can while that momentum is running though it's slowing down due to lack of materials (which reminds me to go look at more beads that I need).
Everyone asks if we're on Etsy so we are considering opening a separate bank account just for that. You see Etsy doesn't use PayPal which is why I liked Artfire. The account would not be a business account just a joint account for us to put money in for our hobby/business and where any money from sales on Etsy. Once we do that we'll shut down the Goodsmiths shop and get going on photos and listings. The other thing is Etsy charges a per item listing fee then takes a commission when you sell and if it doesn't sell in four months, it gets dropped off and you have to relist if you want it to still be up. This is all well and good for people who have constant sales but last time I had an Etsy shop, it was empty after five or six months and I didn't bother to put things back on for sale. The other issue is if an item is popular, most of our stuff is on of a kind (OOAK shorthand) and if someone is looking for a duplicate, some can be repeated but others were a one off moment of creative genius.
Will see what happens and maybe with the addition of Katie's stuff the shop will get more hits.
Katie is on a low carb diet, I'm watching what I'm eating in the manner of less fat and sugars, more salads, water and lean meat, We bought a fancy new bathroom scale that measures weight, body mass, body water, bone density and fat%. She's more regularly active due to PE classes but even so, we both want to fit into some nicer looking costumes next year as well as just feeling better.
I go in for my actual bone density and mammogram in a week will see if that scale is close to my actual bone density then extrapolate from there it's accuracy.
And now for picture:
I don't think I am not photogenic, unfortunately I took after my mom. I yam who I yam and that's all that I yam.
