Jon's fever broke three days ago and he's stronger and more focused. Halelujah! I was really getting worried for a while. We both have a nagging cough that is one of the things everyone has said happens. I've had a nagging cough for years every winter or every time I get a cold so I'm used to it. Jon's voice is a bit rough and he's been whispering but his doctor called to see how he's doing and she said... drink coffee it'll help tighten the throat and loosen the mucus. Awww gee, an actual doctor's permission to drink coffee again! Poor guy, hahaha!
I got a call from the district HR for work to check in on me and ask questions about where I may have gotten it, if I was closer to anyone at work than 6 feet for more than 30 minutes...all the things. He also said I would be paid for my two weeks, which I knew already, and I don't have to get a retest to go back to work since it's been over 15 days. I go back to work on Jan 7 and expect to have people wanting to give me hugs and welcome me back. We are a tight group in garden and hoping no one else got sick while I was gone.
We are waiting for the measly 600 from the government as well as the extra 300 for Jon's EDD. Thanks to my brothers and friends we have enough money to survive and make most of rent for this month. We'll do a little grocery shopping and get a sandwich for lunch at our favorite place we haven't been to in three weeks. It really does make a difference when you can eat your favorite foods.
I knew Jon was on the mend when he had a quarter of a bagel a few days ago and has been eating more every day. Hoping to get enough in the cupboards and fridge to eat well without hitting the store every week. It's hard when the best I can do for a meal is crock pot recipes since we aren't really set up for cooking a turkey or roast...which reminds me might do that anyway. HAM! I will splurge and get a good spiral cut ham... sandwiches for days! Pea soup! yeah I think I'm back to normal.
Okay off to get groceries and food.
