They call it 'gold' I call it copper/rose gold |
Really needed replacing just like my desktop. The old one was close to ten years old (early 2011) and at the end of useable os period. Using the backup external drive I am currently migrating the previous settings and stuff over to new machine, we will see how compatible everything is. Also got a larger keyboard for the main computer. Got so tired of being cramped and tiny, I think I covered that when I got the computer. This one is longer, which pushes my mousepad over and forces me to sit a little more to the left but I will adjust. I needed the bigger keyboard.
Also got a stylus to play my games on the ipad and my phone. I realized the tip of my index finger was getting sore and couldn't figure it out then the lightbulb came on. Total for macbook, keyboard and stylus (plus the usb converter that I apparently needed) just under $1200 out the door.
I have not had a full on brand spanking new computer in both forms together at all. I'm happy these will do what I need for years to come and I don't have to worry about being 'behind the technology'.
Yes I still have plenty of money to fix my car and survive on for the next month or two.
And to that, I called the auto shop and despite it saying on their website to make appointments, the lady said it's first come first serve and I have to call when they open tomorrow to see if they can fit me in. I was hoping to make an appointment but I guess they don't actually do that in, you know, an actual appointment type way. This is the mechanic my daughter goes to and says they're really good and cheaper than anyone else. She's had three successive cars fixed there and they do the job without giving a runaround. I'm game for that. They open at 7:30 in the morning so I guess I'll have to set my alarm.
Other than the heat, we are comfortable, it's quiet outside for the most part, birds sing in the morning, with the heat everyone stays inside most of the day and using what my dad always did to keep the inside cool we're good.
Basically open everything or keep windows/doors open during the night to let the hot air out and cool air in. Just as the temperature starts climbing to tolerable, shut everything up and turn fans and AC on. It stays a comfortable 80 for the most part. If I convince Jon to do that. He still feels he can do things in this heat but is slowly taking my advice and staying home if I need to run and get something. Like yesterday, and today I want sandwiches for lunch so as soon as the macbook finishes migrating stuff I'll be going out to get food. Hoping to go out later tonight and get supplies to do sphaghetti. Didn't do that today, kind of selfish I suppose but tomorrow will be good...unless the car goes in the shop and then it's put of for another day. Best laid plans....
Migration is almost done, have to pay attention to the new baby.
