It is done!

Checking budget three times before hitting the button the other night, we are set for visiting Disneyland on Aug 11, day before Jon's birthday. All he wants to do is see Galaxy's Edge then go home. Hold on bucky, I paid for this trip we're going to see some of the rest of the park. Space Mountain for sure, visit some of the other areas for shopping. This will be a shopping and experience trip. Drive up Oh Dark Early get to the park, sign up for the virtual queue for Rise of the Resistance and try to get on Smuggler's Run..but honestly, just being there and seeing all the details that we have seen in videos and other peoples description is really worth it.

There are a few rides that are not open due to Covid and refurbishing, that's fine. I would like to plan another trip in December because Jon has made an amazing Star Wars/Mandalorian jacket.

Much much much too warm to wear that this time of year, but he did have a vest, asked me if I liked the way it was cut and ordered a second one so we can have matching vests. Mine is going to be a combination of pins on the front and patches on the back. I have two Start Wars patches so far (one is the same black and white Star Wars patch) and have transferred all my Disney pins to the vest. I also have a Plant Lady patch that will be going on my jacket finally.

Not much of a collection but I haven't been going as much as other people. I have a duplicate Emperor Stitch pin I gave to Jon and will be expanding on my collection for sure this trip. Maybe by December we can go again so he can wear his awesome jacket. We started this matching thing when we met. I forgot what it was but we had the same kind of blue fleece vest. Not an exact match but close enough and it just stuck. We're that silly and adore each other so much to be that goals couple.

It is expensive to go to Disneyland yes, but I had room in my budget and a little extra money to spare so we're doing it. I hope to get my new credit card before we go that way I can use that for food or goodies. $161 doesn't go very far but far enough to save money. Yes I will be keeping up on the payments for that because the ultimate goal is to jack up my credit by next spring when we get our tax returns (which won't be as much due to not having a job most of this year). At that point we will see about starting retirement income. A few years early but we have to have something better than unemployment.Well hoping retirement income is better but not sure it will be. At this point it's about $900 something a month. If I had kept my job and was able to run it all the way out to my 66th birthday it would have been $1200 something. Jon wants to start his paperwork after his birthday (we're the same age remember) but there's a huge backlog at the dept. of records in NY to get his birth certificate. I have mine but don't have my marriage certificate which I need before I can get a Real ID before my birthday in October. So many complications.

I have medical finally so that's taken care of. Waiting for my official cards and such but luckily ::knock on wood:: I am good healthwise but eventually want to get checkups and such done. I got vision as well because my eyes are going south faster than I like. I need dental but state dental coverage is a joke.

It is such a joy to have someone just as geeky and smart and silly as I am. I don't know what would have happened if we had met years before but I do know we would still be in as much love now as ever. We have lived our lives, made our mistakes, and have waited for someone that has a shared interest. I am thankful to the change in my life that made this happen as devastating as it was at the time, the right things happen at the right time for the right reasons..
