Jon finally got an email from SS and his application was approved but we still won't know how much for another few weeks. He also said that his unemployment is continuing likely his previous information was about the $300 that was dropping off. He still has until the end of the year but if SS goes through then that drops out. You can't decide to take on over the other based on which one is more so here's hoping SS will be at or a little more than unemployment.
So that's good news, he definitely gets in a funk when money is tight, most people do. It definitely would have been very tight if I had to pay for his bills as well as mine plus rent out of what I'm getting. We are paying over $400 in storage rent because there's mine and his stuff, considering we can't store anything in our small place. Honestly if we could get a bigger place that was $200 more but had a garage or extra room, we would actually be in the same situation. We're paying $950 for rent, electric is maybe $100 right now but will be less in the winter. Cable is basically zero with the low income credit and we have our phones and storage, a few entertainment things that don't add up to more than $50 a month so we're actually pretty low on bills.
I have the one secured credit card that I've made one payment already and another is happening at the end of the month then the balance is less than $40 and I can pay it off. It was only $200 and used it at Disneyland, if I can get that building my credit then maybe by next year I can actually start looking at either a vacation or a bigger place. We still wouldn't have enough money to move very far for sure but oh to have a house (you've seen my whining so won't go much further). Credit score is either 600 or slightly lower depending on which one you look at. It dropped because when I set up the auto payment from the bank it took four days for it to hit the card company. Credit Karma is still registering my balance of $119 when it's closer to $80 now. I changed the date so it will hit them on time next month. That will raise my credit score a bit and if I buy one thing and pay it off, then keep doing that every month.. maybe get a second card? That's being dangerous though. So it's coming along.
I found out my former roommate and friend soulmate Katie got a job and found out the same day she has breast cancer. Hers is about the same stage mine was and she's with UCSD medical which has some of the top doctors in the nation for cancer treatment. She got a port put in like I did and sent me a picture yesterday of her hair shaved off. It was close to shoulder length and colored red at the tips. Sigh... I told her any questions just shoot them to me I'll try and remember what my treatment was like. She'll get through it and said she was going to get a tattoo when she gets done. I'm not one for sitting in a tattoo parlor to watch someone getting inked for hours but her reason is 'fuck being safe'. When she was 10 (in the late 80's) she was told by someone that tattoos cause skin cancer and you could get AIDS or all kinds of nasty diseases. Well that scared her out of getting a tattoo for all her life. Now though she says screw it, I got breast cancer and I'm done being safe. So good for her.
So anyway, not much else to do, oh need to call Sharp, my medical provider since I can't find a way to pay my piddly medical coverage through the site. That's totally annoying. I called and it said wait is long you can have us call you back or wait. I had things to do so let them call back. Haven't gotten any messages so frustrating.
Think I'll go play a game or something, go on Second Life and look into getting a house there.
