More good news and a virtual life

Jon finally got confirmation and an amount for his retirement money. It starts on October 20 and is $1045. Slightly less than what he's getting on unemployment but still enough to pay the bills. I can't retire right now because I would be getting about 100 less than that which is much less than what I'm getting now. I will have to wait and hope for some kind of job.

Rocky has an issue with two of his feet now, took him to the vet last time but I don't have the extra money for that this time. Using the wipes the vet gave me last time but running low. I just don't know what it is that's causing his pads to get inflamed and possibly bleeding. We thought at first that it was from him clawing at the security gate but then his left rear foot on the same side as his front issue is now irritated. I'm keeping him inside for a few days just to be sure it's not something outside. They don't spray anything on the grass and he doesn't like walking on anything but the grass and sidewalks anyway. If it were a piece of glass you'd think it would be on the actual pad but it's in between.

Then my front tooth that has finally crumbled into nonexistence is having an issue. I was eating a taco and one of the pieces of shell jammed into the cavity area (it's all dead nerves so that wasn't an issue) which tore some of the gum and I think broke what pieces were left leaving one piece that wiggles. Now it is painful to  bite down on anything and I only have about an inch of actual chewing surface on my left side right next to it. Bottom right and left molars have been gone for years,  so whenever I get dental coverage (which isn't usually covered very well for adults for some reason) I will likely end up getting full dentures. TMI but that's what I'm dealing with right now.

On the absolutely great news though, due to mental issues Dan (Amber's ex) has decided that he's giving Amber the boys full time in roughly two weeks. She luckily now has a place big enough to fit five people, twice the footage of her last place for lower rent. She is near SDSU so not that far from me and as soon as they are settled in (possibly by my birthday or Halloween) I might go over and see them. The boys are now 11 and in middle school so they are trying to negotiate having them do remote learning since there isn't a convenient middle school near them. It's the college area, not suburbia so if they can do that it will make transitioning easier. I'll see if they need an extra computer or laptop, even if my old ones are out of date it would be something.

Still dreaming about having a place of our own or at  least an affordable house to rent, certainly not in San Diego. I made my own house in second life that is close to my ideal home. two story, nice size lot, large kitchen, two rooms upstairs one downstairs (more of a small office really) and enough yard to put in a garden, front and back porch. Sigh.

They use meters so it's 32x32 m = 1042 sq m. I figured out using an app just how big that is in real life and turns out to be about 105x105. That is a nice little parcel for a nice little house. For 'paying residents' you get to choose from four different theme areas and within that about five different models within that them. This one is in the 'Log Cabin' theme all the trim and walls inside and out are customizable for colors. Semi loft style with living room on the right, kitchen/dining on the left, bedrooms above kitchen side. Unfurnished and no appliances or anything so bare bones. It's a lot of fun to play in here and 'feeds my soul' as Jon says.

It's a peaceful life.
