but short on money to pay rent and all the other bills still. What is needed is $1000 at the beginning of the month just for rent. It's impossible to get unless the $5 bill in my pocket is a guarantee lottery purchase winner. I have enough for rent with about $21 left in the bank right now. Still have to pay late fees and storage and all the other stuff. So honestly, we can't afford to live anywhere unless it's for free.
I got my hair cut yesterday, pulled out 40 in cash so I could give the stylist a tip. We paid her with a card last time and didn't have cash for a tip. The cut was only 28 so she got a small tip sadly. It actually looks better when I fluff up the top and get it curly.
Here's what's amusing about the hair place. She gave me her card and punched it with a star saying 'fill the card up and you get a free haircut. After we left I looked at the back and there were 8 punch spots to fill. Doing the math, depending on style and tolerance of getting a trim every three months, it would take me two years to fill that card. I do hope they don't expect someone to go in every month to get a trim. That's possible though for some finicky people that also have money to spend every month on their hair. I got my previous cut in February so that's about 5 months and way too long between.
Anyway.
I'm expecting to not be able to pay rent and we will be packing up by the end of the month or next month with no where to go and no money to stay anywhere. Yes I am doom and gloom again because that's my life right now. Every month until something major happens or I or Jon dies.
Yes, that's what my brain is doing right now because those are the only options. There is no business hiring for either of us in our chosen comfort level. In other words, no food service and no overnight schedules. I applied to Joann's took three weeks before Indeed got back to me to say I wasn't a good fit. Right. I had to take an assessment test that had nothing to do with what I would be doing at Joanns.
So on the good side, a friend I've known for decades from the old Babylon 5 days asked for my help on a game panel she's doing for ComiCon this month. Of course I said yes so she arranged for passes for both Jon and I for the whole weekend and then traded emails back and forth to plan what we would be doing. She lives in Florida and will be flying in next Wednesday for the con. I'm excited really despite not having any money to spend. There's other panels to sit in and watch, all the people to see and displays. It will be our last hurrah before coming back to reality and our situation.
I really am expecting to be getting a notice for this month and next about the rent. I will probably go to the bank and get a money order for 560 which is half the rent this month and the late fee from last month then when Jon gets paid get another one for the remainder of the rent and then we're broke again. I got a message from the bank saying my AAA payment bounced in my second account because I forgot to change it over last month. My 'promo' period ended for internet so that cost is doubling since the government allowance ended as well.
If I don't get a winning ticket with the $5 oh well, I'm only out that much.
I'm done, going to go see about personal entertainment and maybe work on some BlenderCG stuff.
