I haven't taken pictures of any cooking lately because, I'm too busy cooking and eating it to take pictures. The weather is glorious right now but we're due rain the next two days then cloudy and clearing again. Love the spring weather and it's doing my garden a load of good. Please feel free to go see my progress over at Greendini Garden Guru. Sounds like a commercial doesn't it but want to still keep things separate for my interests and personal life.
This is the crystal clear weather right now (that's my raised garden bed on the left). I just finished about a 2 week allergy session that had me miserable. Everything either leaking or blocked and still have not figured out what triggers it. I wasn't able to buy any allergy meds until a week in and then realized Claritin does not do any good for me. Last time we bought Allegra and it worked great, which I didn't realize until after two days of Claritin failing. Still kind of tingly itchy nose once in a while and my left eye won't stop watering. Which I suspect is more due to a cavity in my back teeth than allergies at this point.
Update on Amber: She was able to quit her job at Vons and work full time at the coffe shop because tips made all the difference in the pay. She was using more gas and time going to the grocery store for work than it was worth. She told them the reasons and they would have to pay her $18 an hour which of course they said they couldn't do anything more than minimum and she understood that so 2 week notice and she's got the one job. We still have to pick up the boys from school because it was that schedule we were operating on. Happy she's able to bring in enough money to keep her household going and not sacrifice family and time.
As far as I know the other kids are doing fine, haven't heard from them personally but see posts on fb from them so they're alive at least.
Me personally, lately I've had some vertigo and 'swimmy head' dizziness which I am thinking is from the allergy but then I got the 'low blood sugar' jitters and hungriness middle of the day the last few days. I have realized it may be diabetes creeping up so I'm watching my sugar intake, have cut back to one soda a day early in the day and hopefully will take that to zero sodas. That also makes the sodas last longer for Jon who has started to replace his evening soda with a cup of coffee. We got some free produce which included oranges that were delicious, broccoli, brussel sprouts, onions and potatoes. Most of the food distribution days that have drive up with other products than veggies are the days we have to do school shuttle so may not be able to get that done until the boys are out of school for the summer.
The other thing causing me issues is my eyes. The cataract isn't getting better obviously and still haven't made an appointment with new doctor to see how much out of pocket cost would be for it. Oh and my teeth, so just falling apart at the seams and no money to get put back together yet.
Speaking of shuttle, time to get going for that. Updates as they happen or whenever I think it needs to be.
