The hurricane/tropical storm that was predicted to wreak havoc has bypassed my location entirely. We got some heavy rain and a little wind but mostly oppressive humidity and warm temperatures. Jon's sinuses were giving him a headache this morning so that was the first sign of barometric pressure shifting. There is absolutely no wind whatsoever right now. We're having to run the fans to keep air flowing or we'd be drowning in humidity even worse.
No thunder or lightning even though there's a tornado condition warning about an hour ago for south east of us. There was a 5.5 earthquake near Ojai/L.A. area but we didn't feel it way down here. A friend who lives up there alerted me to it. So yeah....chaos abounds right now in SoCal but it's just a dismal, rainy, cloudy humid day for us. My garden is thankful for all the water for sure, Rocky doesn't know what to make of it (btw Happy Gotcha Day to him! 5 years ago!).
School starts this week for the boys so our routine is shifting as we are still on the roster for shuttle duty three days a week. Luckily the majority of the rain will be done by Tuesday, I haven't been outside except for this morning when I checked on the garden before the deluge. Hoping my car got enough of a rain wash but it's parked slightly under a tree. The roads will be all washed clean for sure but will be checking traffic just in case as they are still working on a section of curvy road that slows things down a lot.
That's about it, been cooking almost every day which is an hour to two hour process no matter what. We have meat for now and plenty of veggies, a little bit of money that we need to stretch until next month and enough gas hopefully to lst as long. I think I got a full tank of gas to last a month last time.
So weather has been had, rain will probably be the last we see for another month or two. Maybe more. All things are good, roof over our head and food in the fridge.
