Summer is a'coming

Happy Move-iversary to us! We've now been here for four years officially, according to my FB memories.

(Just a picture of the sky from a few days ago for the thumbnail. Couldn't find anything better.)

We turned the AC on for the first time today and it's only going to be 86 outside but that means 90 inside so yeah. Much like starting a car after it's sat for a while, you rev the engine, then let it idle and then rev again and take off. So 80's this week, partly cloudy for a week then up into the 80's again and so on. The constant noise of the fan and AC right next to me will be getting on my nerves in a few weeks.

Money worries continue but are managed. I thought the SDGE bill would be the same as last month or close to it...nope, jumped about $30 and so it was a scramble to have Jon transfer over $95 from his money to cover it and I have nothing left for my phone bill. I don't need my phone away from home much now but I will be on limited access (no calls in or messages) for two weeks.

Other than that, looking at the neighbors drab brown house as I sit at the desk is depressing in a monochrome kind of way. Tan, brown, brown tan only accented by the white vinyl kitchen window frame. Since they're rebuilding the short fence that butts against our fence it looks like the tree stump is staying. At least the Jacaranda is in bloom again and the bees and hummingbirds are still around.

I made that huge batch of macaroni salad which I ate most of since Jon didn't like how vinegary it was. I then found a recipe for chipotle ranch dressing and used it for another pasta salad but it's not as good. Tasty but not as spicy as I thought it would be. No pictures of that either. We still have plenty of meat and supplies for meals and I have about $8 left in ebt so we can get some bread and maybe some sodas to last until the end of the month. So rationing is in place for certain things and will be fixing a big pork roast in the crock pot tomorrow or Monday depending on how soon it thaws completely. That much meat will make a few different meals for sure. Likely cook it up as carnitas and it can be used in salad, rice, chili, a lot of things. Just nothing in the oven.

No. No oven use for a day or two.

I'm also attempting to write my own original sock pattern I'm working on currently. Still have a multitude of things on my needles to keep my fingers and brain busy. And right now my brain keeps going offline as I look out the window so I'll go have my allotted single can of soda for the day.

Yay for being her 4 years because another year down and if we move we don't have to put any other addresses down on an application. I think.
