More no news is good news

Got my samples done and taken to the lab finally. Doctor video visit is day after tomorrow so not sure if any results will be available by then.  Still doing a lot of yogurt which, for the calcium and protein, is good overall. Thankfully not developing any lactose issue. That would royally suck. Nothing other than that, weather is the same, no reports from other family but suspect Amber is absolutely stressed about her finals.

We had absolutely scrumptious shrimp tacos yesterday with cilantro lime rice. Made some 'chipotle ranch' dressing (made ranch from packet mix then had a can of chipotle in adobo sauce and used about two or three small ones chopped up fine with some of the sauce) then mixed it into some shredded cabbage. Bought a few avocados (Bart, the cheap small ones were 10 for $10! Remember when you were selling them 3 for .25?). Also some pico salsa all made from scratch of course. Am I supposed to be eating that sort of food with my current intestinal issues? Technically no, did it make a difference? Not that I can tell. Oh I bought a marinade packet at the store 'Mojito Lime' that was pretty good, soaked them for a bit too long so they were on the salty side but other than that it blended well with the lime in the rice and the spicy 'slaw' and pico. Definitely a do again.

That, ladies and gents, is a potato plant. Not just any potato plant, a purple potato plant. A friend gave me some sprouted potatoes she had in the cupboard and when I cut them up to dry them, put them on a cookie sheet with paper towels. I forgot I had put them in the oven to keep them safe. Turned on the oven the next day and didn't remember until I smelled warm paper towel. YIKES! Nothing burned but most of the potatoes were literally toast. Oh well. I found a small purple one that had not been cut up and that's what's sprouting. The others I think also got dug up by a critter a few nights ago. No fears though, I have some small white and gold potatoes I am keeping in the cupboard for the spring to plant.

When it's not a dire calamity my life is fairly boring really. I am having yogurt with fruit for my sweet tooth and the marmalade in vanilla is a definite win. I can see using marmalade on scones or biscuits but not toast and maybe even with that clotted cream for an orange whip kind of flavor. So I've been missing out on some wonderful flavors all my life. I remember thinking Orange Julius was a horrid idea and never wanted to try it...well I do now but it's not the same.

So that's all folks. Same old same old, or in my case same shit different day.... looking forward to different shit different day.
