Details, details

Here's the scoop on Devon.
He was charged with a felony and a misdemeanor marijuana infraction (guess that's the term). You can look it up as Penal code 11360 (a) hs. Basically transporting, selling or providing marijuana to someone of an amount over the legal limit.
He's got to report to probation today or tomorrow and get assigned to someone, then he has two court dates back to back at the end of August for sentencing. He's not going to do jail time, it's his first offense, and they bargained down to 18 months of probation and if he stays clean then the felony charge gets wiped off his record and he does probation for the misdemeanor charge.
He got caught last month smoking pot near his place and was given a misdemeanor ticket for that. That's the other court appearance. I don't know if they're going to just drop that in light of his larger issue or what. We'll find out.
So we're going to try and get him down to the probation offices today and then tomorrow I'll probably hang out with him before going to work at the fabric store.
He did get my letters, and when he first got arrested Dan gave the cops a card with his number on it so Devon could call, but the cops put it in his personal effects and he never got the number. They also kept his cell phone as evidence for phone numbers of contacts he may have had for the pot.  They're going to be kind of annoyed because it's a pay as you go and he could only text. I wanted to get him a new phone anyway, but this also means that he has no numbers or way of getting contacted.
When we picked him up last night, he was still tall, geeky and my boy. Like I said, the facility he was in was almost like being on vacation for him. He was fed, had people to hang out with, card games, tv, the only annoyance was going to court and waking up as early as they did every day.
He's always been the kind of kid that if you tell him the deadline for something is Friday then he puts it off until Friday. I was told by his attorney that he needed to get down to probation ASAP. Very important, she stressed that getting down there was imperative, but when he explained it he said he had until Friday. I, of course, said 'We're going tomorrow morning. Get it out of the way in case there's a screw up somehow.'
We just have to find out where to go.
Okay, have to get dressed and get going. Another exciting day... yay.
At least I slept better last night, though my intestinal area is still crampy. I'll talk about my situation when I have more details as well.
