Well Katie and I. We realized that in order for us to take better pictures of our jewelry, we needed a light box. So...what did we do? A little research, $45 in materials and lo and behold we have a light box! Not including the other $40 in things we bought while we went out on this errand..heheh.
Seriously, the first photos we took were incredible! We're using 'Daylight' type bulbs that makes all the difference in the world. That was the expensive part at almost $7 a piece at Home Depot even! (We didn't want to wait and go to Walmart for those). Got a tabletop tripod to give us a steadier hand and voila! We were just grinning from ear to ear after I took the first pictures.
Now it's going to be a fight jostling for using the set up. But this is okay. I'm going to be home most of the time for the next few weeks and can use it when Katie's at work.
She's taking photos of some of her things right now while I'm in my room. We were out A LOT today and my feet and legs are tired.
It's an amazing feeling when something like this comes together and we did it ourselves. US. Two females, with drive and creativity who needed to get something done to hopefully get a little more cash in.
Oh, on a side note, looking at the in coming traffic on my artfire site apparently someone put up my web address on twitter!! I can only hope that people noticed and will generate more traffic.
Other than that... things are going well relatively, and speaking of relative... Amber is having some complications. She wasn't feeling right, all itchy all over that wasn't from having dry skin. Turned out it was a possible complication involving liver production, well she went in and gave them more blood, the numbers came back way off so they had her do a 24 hour urine sample. She turned that in last night and will likely be seeing a specialist tomorrow or Tuesday. She has a regular doctor appointment tomorrow morning so they'll find out if there's any further complications. Oh while she was in triage, they gave her a steroid shot to boost the lung development of the baby lungs, and two shots to stop her contractions. (She was having minor contractions which no matter what, weren't good).
So... in an extreme case, the babies might have to come earlier than usual. Ava was about two weeks early, which is average for our family, but this is two months early for twins. A much bigger deal.
As for me, a coworker from the fabric store brought me a huge ziti casserole, a bag of salad and some rolls. Absolutely wonderful! Gave her like three hugs and thanked her hugely. Going to have to send her a thank you card. It's going to be dinner and lunch for several days for us.
I got my first disability check, which was a partial apparently because it was only $49. Won't see the next one for another week and a half. This may be bad, but I still have a little cushion to fall back on and can replace that with the check when it comes in.
I've made five necklaces in as many days I think, one of them is already earmarked as a gift for someone. Katie bought a book on making dragons from polymer clay which is fantastic because once she gets going on that, I can commission her to do some small dragons as pendants for necklaces I'll make.
We're becoming quite the team.
Oh and Devon is out on his own, living in a house with a friend and his girlfriend. It's near our old neighborhood so he's looking into not only getting a job but going back to school in the spring. Rotten luck with the timing, but he and Dan were...not seeing eye to eye and he finally just got fed up and left. There's more details than that, but essentially that's it.
So, going to sit here for a little longer, then go back and take more photos of my stuff yippee!
