Well, more complications for Amber...less for me.

Amber has had difficulties in the last few weeks, suddenly developed itchiness all over, not been feeling good, can't sleep...and heartburn.
Well it turns out that it's something called cholestasis of pregnancy. Basically the gall bladder shuts down due to pregnancy hormones and the liver starts backing up bile into the bloodstream. She's had several blood tests, urine samples and blood pressure as well as non-stress tests on the babies. They're doing fine...
Liver toxicity counts should be somewhere in the low 100's normally and hers is close to 400. So they told her to check into triage and make plans to spend the night for observation. She was devastated because in an extreme case, they have to take the babies out early. If they can't get her numbers lower it can cause issues with the babies liver production too. They're kicking up a storm and moving and grooving which is causing her no end of issues, what I notice in her is her eyes are more sunken than usual. She hasn't been able to sleep well with being itchy all over and having heartburn at night. I managed to give her a bright lining in the cloud of despair by saying that if they do have to come this month or next month they get to put the twins on their taxes next year!
I suspect they'll keep her overnight as well as most of tomorrow and possibly Friday.
I won't know any more until tomorrow morning, they're likely trying to get some rest, hoping that they give Amber something to get her to sleep better. Ava is staying overnight with me right now, hoping Dan will be able to come by and get her in the morning.

As for me...
Doctor took out the drain under my arm, taking the sutures out holding it in place hurt more than it did to pull it out. I thought it was a lot longer. The other one has to stay in another week due to the output is around the implant and it's still got a lot of oozing. Oh and I got my first 'inflation' of saline water in the expander...he only gave me 60cc's which sounds like a lot, and it looked like a lot but apparently it's a small amount comparatively. I get another one next week I think as well. It feels kind of tight and a bit sore as it should be. Might have to take some vicodin tonight, didn't have to last night because I was tired enough.
No word from the oncologist office... might have to give them a call on Monday.
Other than that... business as usual at this point... which is to say Amber is now the focus of everything now. Oh and I'm driving again!  Yay for mobility and having my own transportation!
Okay. That's enough excitement for one day...going to see about getting Ava to go to bed in about an hour and me too. (Expander area is starting to get uncomfortable to the point of mild pain. Normal but ow...)

Now for the amazing quote from an unusual corner...(I've put a big space between the quote and the author to have you try and guess who said it.

"Human salvation lies in the hands of the creatively maladjusted."

That is from Martin Luther King Jr.!  Amazing eh?  So those of us who are heavily creative might have a chance after all!
