Happy New Year! Really, I mean that!

Anyone reading this will completely agree with me when I say that I hope this year is better than last year!
But knowing my luck...it may not be any better but won't be worse.
Passed the time online, said happy new year to those I was talking to, and then went to bed around 1:30.
I should be on work schedule but since it's a holiday, I'm not and you aren't going to make me. I will be taking my daily walk though. Likely with hundreds of other people wanting to start the new year with exercise.
I walked twice yesterday, once up to the store and mailbox (Livvy your earrings are on the way!) and the second was around the bay as usual. I think I've been walking like a half mile every time on that route. Going to have to check the markers. When I was walking back yesterday I saw two makers on the path. One going the direction I was walking said 1/2 mile. But from where? The other said 3 miles and was oriented in the other direction. I KNOW I didn't walk 3 miles. I MIGHT have walked a 1/2 each direction. It took me about ten minutes to walk from that marker to a picnic gazebo. I might go down into the canyon today, take the high ground path instead of next to the creek/river. The bay is too windy, can't hear my motivational music.
Oh, what do I listen to? Yesterday I listened to my 'Writing Mix' which is all instrumental wandering through the Avatar and Tron Legacy soundtracks, Enya, and come Celtic and New Age stuff.  The other day it was just the Tron music have no idea what I want today. Maybe some Celtic stuff, try and get my head back into my story to get that moving again.
Maybe that should be one of my goals. Get at least a sample chapter sent off to an editor or magazine. I'm going to try and have a sample ready to take with me to Condor next month to put on my table. Single sheet for people to take with them and read. Maybe the right person will pick it up and want to see the rest of it. At least what I have that's fit for public reading.
Anywhoo... getting hungry and I have orange cinnamon rollsin the fridge. Yippeee! Go throw those in the toaster oven and I'll be good to go.

And just to lighten things up a bit, today's quote is from that star of stage and screen...

Miss Piggy:

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it may be necessary from time to time to give a stupid or misinformed beholder a black eye.
  - Miss Piggy

My response to that is something my dad used to say about things, usually not people.

'That's been hit with an ugly stick'
