So, I've been busy with other things.

Had my appointment with the surgeon and am in line for the surgery on Tuesday. I didn't write down the questions I wanted to ask and as a result, forgot to ask them. Mostly detailed questions on just how things will go which is a moot point now. He's writing me in for two weeks of recovery instead of one, considering I already went through one major surgery I should take the down time.  If I pay attention to walking every day instead of sitting on my butt, I should be good after a week. We'll just have to wait and see. This is a lot less invasive than the breast surgery but involves the stomach muscles. I expect to be back to 'regular' food in another month.  And then there's the scheduling for the next stage for the 'perky boob' surgery as a friend calls it.
Then there's the oncology appointment. I think that is going to be the harder part of all this. It usually is. My appointment with her is the week after the g.b. surgery so everything is getting lined up.
There was talk about the Chinese zodiac at work and how last year was the year of the Tiger and it's going out roaring...certainly is for me! Last year and into this year have been packed full of changes.
On the entertainment side of things, I downloaded the Avatar game for my ipod. I haven't played a game like that in years and it took me two weeks I think to get through it. I showed it to Devon and that was a bad tease because he played through the intro obstacle course in about ten minutes. Took me an hour.  He's better at it than I am but it's still a fun game. I realized toward the end that I don't like 'obstacle course' type games, the last ones I remember playing were the first two version of Prince of Persia for the Mac and Dark Castle 1 and 2. Yeah, that goes way back!

In any case, I'm almost full time at both jobs, did a full day at the nursery due to giving a class in the morning. My feet were killing me by the end of the day so when I come back from the surgery I'm hoping I'll be up to speed. I've only been back to work for a month, now taking two more weeks off, then likely will have an adjustment period for the chemo treatments, and then the final breast surgery and likely a month off for that...my schedule won't be settled down likely until May! I hope sooner, but we'll see.
Knowing what my brother went through with his, I hope my treatment isn't as nasty.
::sigh::
I hate being sick. Don't you?

And...here's a quote that most people know but rarely know the author:

"The only paradise, is paradise lost."

Marcel Proust

Yeah... life is something like that. Because in order to lose something, you need to have found it first.  Right? Replace paradise with childhood, content.... see?
