I failed to fill out the disability paperwork and now have it done but can't see the doctor until Thursday. Going to have to hand deliver it and do the circuit today in order to get it started. I realized this when I saw that payday was this week for the prior two weeks. Um, that would be my two weeks off. I might get an eensy paycheck but not enough to cover rent.
It'll all work out I'm sure, just squeaky this time.
The weather here is being weird, it's been clear lately during the day and climbing into thel ow 70's, then at night due to no cloud cover the temps drop way down to the 40's. First thought in my mind was, 'people in valley areas are getting enough chill for fruit trees.' As long as they aren't citrus!
Chemo port area is healing nicely, though slightly itchy due to the healing process and the skin glue they used. No, not a reaction just stretching and stuff around it.
Oh, my appointment for the bone density scan took less time than it did to drive over there. I left my area (Clairemont Dr.) around 7:30 and got there exactly at 8 am. Walked in, filled out two papers, got called less than a minute after sitting down, undress, lay down on the table, do the scan all in about 15 minutes. Was back out to my car in twenty minutes.
Alrighty then.... have the rest of the day to do whatever I want. Which meant sitting in front of my computer typing and talking to friends on SL. Helped Katie clean the apartment a little since she was having someone over for Valentines. (They ended up watching Last Samurai)
I have to work some more on my skirt and vest and look for a suitably Victorian looking blouse.
(Just switched tabs to look for something on google and forgot what I wanted to look for... gods haven't even started chemo and my memory is failing!)
Okay remembered finally what I needed to do and it had nothing to do with this posting.
But.. I have a great quote that will make you giggle instead of ponder today:
"Never be afraid to laugh at yourself. You may be missing out on the joke of the century!"
--Dame Edna Everage
I don't know if that's the alter ego of a British comedian or not but it's so true! Another similar quote that I either heard or came up with, "If I can't laugh at myself, who can I laugh at?"
hehee.
