I was moving the ocean blue Mermaid ornament last night and it fell..off the table and onto a hard surface 18 inches down. The ball collapsed in shards inside the bead netting.
As soon as I heard the sound of it hitting, I knew it was broken. There is no way of salvaging it other than dismantling the entire netting and making it over again. Going to have to get gloves and break the remaining pieces inside the netting in order to get the glass small enough to get it all out then start cutting the strings holding it together.
I took it off artfire already. This is sad, very sad only.
Well at least I got pictures! to work from but now I'm thinking the shipping on those needs to be higher due to more packaging. They don't weigh any more than a necklace but there will need to be more bubble wrap...lots and lots of bubble wrap and lots of FRAGILE stickers all over the box.
Knowing me, the next version won't be exactly the same as the first. I wanted to make lines of clear rainbow bubbles going up randomly so I might try that.
Anyway, other than that minor setback creatively everything else is going as well as can be expected. Hair is growing back in nicely, and it looks like I've got more grey than I did before...oh well, it was bound to happen some day and it doesn't seem as if it's coming in curly either like everyone has said it might. That's okay, wasn't looking forward to curly hair. Only way my hair ever got curly was a perm, other than that, straight as straw all my life.
Back on vitamins again after running out of the huge bottle that Katie had. Went to Walmart last night after work and picked up two small bottles of hand soap, two bottles of vitamins and a bottle of generic Alleve for under $20. Oh, also brought home a handful of figs from a coworker. They're tasty and at first didn't know what kind they are but now think they might be Brown Turkey, not dark enough to be Black Mission. My only experience with figs until I worked at the nursery was Fig Newtons which I hated. Real figs don't taste anything like that thankfully. All my life I had avoided eating figs for two reasons. One; Fig Newtons and two; the way they are pollinated. Well my first fig was a Honey Fig from the nursery tree in the corner that is no longer there. It was phenomenal! So now I'm open to trying other varieties and can now give an honest opnion about figs.
Well need to get a shower, put a load of laundry in the wash and see about putting another ornament up for sale on artfire. Then, work.

I know some people who have discovered that option.
